Yes, that is his job alright, and I'm sure that is the purported rationale for his appointment.

However, I worked for a company for years that was of the mindset that "a manager is a manager", and if you have the proper skills you can run anything. Suffice it to say that they are now out of business. If you are going to try and spearhead something, you need to know at least enough to tell when you are being bullshitted or when people are delving off into left field.

I would be willing to bet that this guy's main task is sacrificial lamb, and he will probably be great for that.

Try telling this to Fox. They were all over the "czar doesn't know a thing about ebola" and "he is a lawyer, not a doctor". Sad how they can get away with such deceptive media coverage.

How is it deceptive if he knows nothing about ebola, is a lawyer and not a doctor. Even when they get it right which in this case they are, you still find fault with it. I'm not defending faux at all here and don't watch their lineup. I seriously doubt if msnbc, cnn, cbs, nbc said the same thing you wouldn't have even bothered to type that out and would probably have said, yeah what's up with that. But they won't say that because they love the full on sticky facial of political semen of the democratic party.
It's a bullshit appointment. Given the level of panic, potential for more cases, either imagined or real, some type of doctor with an infectious disease background should have been appointed instead of this guy who was hired to put a political spin on the shit. It's like protecting yourself from a drone strike with a fucking umbrella.

I agree with ya. I don't care for main stream/cable news. Nothing but propaganda for their "side". But then again when a republican is there the other news/propaganda outlets are on him like a tick on a dogs ass. Obama has continued programs and in many cases expanded on them that the other networks blasted Bush for and you don't hear a word about it cross their lips. If Bush had declared it was ok to target American citizens for death abroad with drone attacks without due process the media would have been all over the nazi bastard. Obama does it and follows through and he's a fucking hero.
Serious double standard in the way things get reported. No such thing as an unbiased news outlet.
BUT-
Seriously. With all the highly qualified people in this country that do have medical expertise in regards to infectious disease, the absolute best the White House could do is appoint this guy as the Ebola czar? It just goes to show they have a sense of humor I guess because there is no way to take this guy serious.

But then again, there is a need for a dissenting news outlet like Fox. Prior to the 70's, and the stage was being set in the mid to late 60's, there were 3 news outlet. ABC, CBS, and NBC.
Years later we found out from the mouth of Walter Cronkite, Americas most trusted news man at the time, that he did in fact present the news in a way that favored the Democratic party. that admission shocked a lot of people. People trusted the news reporters.
Prior to the cable news, the government would simply do what they wanted and things would not get reported. Many of the middle aged to older people I grew up around truly believed the government was looking out for them. If you weren't doing anything wrong why would you worry if the government spied on you? They, the gov, were able to do this with the basic news outlets help. They controlled nearly every aspect of what was released and reported.
Fast forward to CNN and Fox, all of a sudden things started coming to light. Americans were no longer told what to believe and were given news from 2 view points.
The down side of that is those 2 view points still don't tell the whole truth. They present what is favorable to their view point and put it out for their viewers.
If there were 1 solid news outlet that didn't have a political bias, presented the whole truth about the issues, it wouldn't last. Sponsors wouldn't advertise so they wouldn't even be able to get the station off the ground.
Our political system has done a great job of brain washing the population into a us versus them situation. The sad part of that is those party members actually believe that their party is the way it should be.
America is seriously in a bad place right now and both major parties have put us there. Yet, come 11-4-14 we'll head to the polls once again and do the same damn thing all over again hoping their liar is gonna do the right thing for the country. Do something different if you really want change, don't put anyone back in office that is there now. that alone will shake up the political machine more than anything else we as a people could ever do,. but that's just my opinion.
