Some good suggestions in this thread! K+ on the link Krunch. Ya beat me to it lol. People need to be preparing for the long haul on this one. Scientists, environmental and otherwise, have been saying for a while that this may be indicative of a climate shift for us West Coasters the likes of which haven't been seen in many generations. Some are claiming the last drought like this lasted 200! years here in Ca!

it already is critical, we are in a state of emergency, the states plan for the last 5 years is let the reservoirs drain for farms/citys until its too late, now its too late.

is your pot farm licensed with the state agricultural board? then i guess you arnt getting water...

BUT... if it rains for the next 4 months then we might get back to where we have been, late is better than never.

i just read that on the north coast we would need to get 1' foot of rain over the next 3 months & reduce demand by 45% to get to 1977 drought levels.

so the situation has been dire, now it's like they want to rock it til' the wheels fall off.
they are more keen on turning water to wine, so no hope in sight.

If we can build a oil pipe line all the way across the state of Alaska we can damn sure build a water line from So Cal all the way to the Columbia river.. Should have done it 30 or 40 years ago..
We been stealing Eastern Sierra water long enough and now have to limit what we take.. Got to put enough water back in Owens lake to cover it.. LOL We drank that dry back in the 40s I think..

We've been getting good rain where im at a bit ago a storm brought about 14 inches and this current storm looks promising and lots of water in the future forecast. Reservoirs still low but looking better. My creek is running now atleast. As I've said before I've seen heavy rain here late in season a lot. Last year I couldn't plant until june 10th do to rains. I feel WE did this. Everyone flocked to cali. Drilled wells and cut clearings, blew it up, used mad water, and here we are now.

No. WE didn't do this,...it's more like mismanagement by water "districts" who pander to the state and feds(and pad their own accounts in the meantime), weather changes, and just plain ol Mother Nature. I'm making sure my ladder fuels(ie low hanging braches, weeds growing around tree bases etc) are trimmed as well as my weeds kept in check cuz I think fire season's gunna be a biyatch this year!

Hello all,

Lately the radio has been playing a PSA from the sheriff about illegal water use and cannabis farms here in Mendocino and north.

The jest is any illegal water diversions will be dealt with and even a hotline for tips on illegal diversions and stealing of water resources.

Good, the environmental impact of such operations hurt us all.

Ive been in norcal a month now hearing about water issues. Too bad nobody out here gave me a second look for work because I do bioremediation with fungi that will stop nutrients from leaving your garden, vastly improve water retention while building better soil organically. If somebody can intro me to the scene here id be happy to do some free consulting that will have CAMP licking your boots instead of eradicating the crop. Get at me folks im leaving soon if I cant find some open minds. Thanks everybody.
