sog strains

Hello,
Yes another, what is a good candidate for high density site sog growing question.
Basically Im looking for a fast thick hard dense center cola bloom, one that produces mini pineapples, and preferably in less than 65 days. If a strain does a great center but needs side pruning thats not problem, any side arm branching will be pruned off to accommodate space for just the centers. I have searched on this site and have done search engine searches, hashberry is one that sticks out, but I was just curious if anyone has any current information based on their grows, not just the descriptions that they read on the net, not to be rude. I realize a Indie dom is choice, but to be honest I dont want to order beans blindly would like to hear some good feedback.
Thank you!!

Hey m8! I am into that research at the moment as I am running a 14 week flowering sativa and I'd really wish to be ready for a fast flowering indica SoG afterwards.

I have concluded to Northern Lights and maybe Sensi's Hash plant but it's only on regular, while Northern Lights feminized version is quite good and very close to the original regular one. So what I was thinking was maybe to get 10 feminized beans, fill up the 4x4 room with 60-64 clones insta-flower after rooting. Then I will be more "sure" that I will find my "winner". I would really welcome any other member that had to propose something nice to contribute....What we look for is a single cola hard packed bud, whereas the Northern Lights gets somehow "bushy" by nature. so I was thinking by purchasing the 10 beans is to chop the lower branches of every clone produced and see which one gives the best reaction to it, plus final weight.

If we'd go for longer flower, I'd stay with clones of my NL5xHaze or maybe S.A.G.E. if you prefer something similar from another breeder. IN terms though of an "early finishing sativa pheno" people claim Cinderella 99 as a 56 day finisher. I do not know man and I do not really trust much of this internet marketing crap. Northern Lights started the "hype" with SoG grows back in 90ies , so I guess the original pattern belongs there. So I maybe start from there and after I conclude to my NL pheno then I may start looking for other strains to get a new winner or permanent extra addition in the tent :)

In any case i am seriously considering to keep a clone from my best NL5xHaze pheno and once i shoot the Northern Lights to flowering, instead of 60 make 56 of them and keep 4 sativas, each in every corner of the tent so that I won't miss it :D

This plan can be most effectively realized only with a heavy-indica strain. Time/Yield etc. Dial it all in. Plus I like my indicas very couch-locky so I think only an "NL winner" can do that as a term of "easy selection".

I'd really love to see other people contributing here because experience is always better than research.

Hello LegacyTron, underway with a c99 Cross diesel. Have run before but topped it once at 10" tall and then flowered right away with no recovery time, it did quit well on the mass meter. Going single kolita this time, I'll post here when done, should be flowering soon as they are from seed. Good luck in your search

I did this SOG months ago.
8 KB cuttings in a plastic container 24 cm wide,54 long, around 30l soil.

The harvest was a bit more than 100gr ( a bit more than 12gr each clone) in 8 weeks.
I could fit 4 containers in my tent wich is 120cmx 120 cm.
That would be 400 gr.

I like more this cutting with 9 weeks 63 days.

Great hybrid for SOG easy to root, nice vigour, just some wáter now and then.... easy going.

go untopped and we'll check how it develops! <3 soiless

@ Harry: ye you should add a few more containers to increase your yield ~! However, I think it was a top end product wasnt it ? you grew it in soil harry ?

Day 50 with 10 to go so hopefully they will still fatten up. If I reveg the soda can one and do a room full of those I'm assuming it will do pretty good for sog ops in terms of yield.

Wow over 1300 posts in 9 months you've been busy... I'm assuming giving crap advice and misinformation all over too? With a 500+ count of seed plants between 2 flower rooms I would say less than 1/3rd of those plants are suitable for sog, so your premise of most plants will do well in sog is simply wrong, just like a short compact indica wouldnt be good for large scrog??? So ill guess I'll stick with weight and keep growing garbage. :tiphat:

Scoby, you would Do Well to find a really good clone mom or 4 and start the SEA from there. A couple clone machines, a big veg tent (and a selective eye), and your flower room with 2-3 stages depending on your volume and turn around needs.

lol, "most plants do good" in sog....

oh, yeah, BTW

Dinafem Blue Widow is my personal experience best SOG recco. It lollipops itself, has great pedigree, and is FAST...
Ive tried GHS Trainwreck , Devil Seeds StrawDiesel, Nirvana Bubblicious and CG Chemwreck in the SOG and they all have their strengths and faults. ie: Trainwreck runs away, Strawdiesel doesn't clone well, Bubblicious and Chemwreck go horizontal and are better Scrog

I like Easy- clone strain with top-heavy aggressive flowering. NO Growth spurts or branching please, except on the MOMS.

After a lot of experimentation I found my best clones in (a true SoG, 15cm x 15cm pots, 48 or 49 plants per Sq Meter) SoG were flowered at 15cm. The key is getting them flying out of the propagator, I put them straight into a NFT system under a 400HPS (Smallish loft setup).

Back then I was not really aware of lolipopping or 3d techniques, but from what I have seen and learnt I would bet the house on getting increased yields by putting taller, lolipopped clones around the edge to create more of a stadium effect.

For people who insist on growing in mud, lolipopping may be even more useful, as it takes longer to establish the plant with inferior rootzone conditions, I believe your clones will be better if you grow them a bit more, trim a few of the extra nodes off at the bottom end, and flower that.

Either way, with SoG even more than normal growing, well documented careful experimentation is the key to real results.

Greensky hello! Thank u much for the link. Looked at it briefly but I'm going to go back and look at it in detail. My goal is to find something that finishes with a 1 zip cured per cola site. I appreciate you turning me on to the thread. Have a groovy day!

ChaousCat thanks for stopping by, flying out of the proporgator.... Roots roots roots. I'm going to put into the budget... Orca rootzone microbes. I do believe your dead nuts on because when I do post run audit of the containers some sites are super bound and some sites have very lil root development. Will run the orca on feed day once a to twice a week and I'm going to let it brew in conjunction with other nutrients. Have a great day!

Joint op, I apologize for being so brass, I guess there's 2 ways to convey a message and choose the unprofessional path, for that sorry. However, I will say that I'm very sensitive to poor information which is in fact what you gave. I find my tolerance to that comes from when I was a newer grower on another site and found that bad info almost wiped out my grow. Go back and read you say.... No friend I'm looking for growers with true experience with their strains before I commit 2 rooms to just about any strain. I find icmag to be a lot better than other sites because you have cultivators here with a lot experience... Not your average closet cfl lighting guy more of the commercial top shelf types. For you to come back and call me a dick is totally warranted and I accept it. If I can say one thing thou... You mention I need to take the time to do some reading, well I'll ask you to do the same. Find my link within this thread that takes you to my journal and you will find that I'm currently dealing with a terminally Ill dad who has cells eating his brain alive and its costing me 200 a day out of pocket for hospice healthcare. This maybe why I lashed out, again I apologize. I will take your advice and go back to what's the best teacher for anyone here who is growing and that's experience.. I'll go back to doing it myself as you said and turning 9 to 11 pounds every 10 weeks. I was looking for a strain that will increase that... Thus the thread. If you will find under my history I don't ask many questions on the board and I typically post in my own journal. If you feel you have to get in the last word bud go for it, I really don't care, and probably won't entertain it, that's the kinda thing you find on other sites. Good luck with your endeavors and growing. God bless you and yours :)

Bag seed grow sog. I'm in flush and will attempt a wet trim of the room while still attached to post and end the thread. There's the soda can pheno which I believe is sticky enough, carries a pleasant nose, and quit clearly will scale out the most, very dense and rock hard.
