Trying to Figure Out What To Run Next...

I'm looking for a nice indica that will stay short and stout with minimal stretch during flower. I am planning on doing a SOG on a 2x8 tray under two 8 bulb T5s (I know, I know...) in either 2 or 3 gal smart pots, so something like 16-25ish plants on the tray. Each plant will be topped once for a clone (I don't keep mothers) so each plant will have four main colas. There is only 32" of vertical space, so veg time will be fairly short (although it's all usable as it can grow basically right up to the floro bulbs).

Reason I am flowering under T5s is because it's what I had extra power for in my shed and the space permitted it, and I am flowering more stretchy strains under my HPS lights (some cookie strains and DNA/Crocketts tangelope). I know my Obama Kush will do well in this type of setup as it has very little stretch to it in flower, but I want 1 more strain to run as I have 2 trays available.

Here's what I have at my disposal:

D-Kush Chem D cut x SFV (San Fernando Valley) OG Kush BX2 male.

Cheesy Rider Real Exodus Cheese cut x Biker Kush V1.0 male (HA-OG BX1).

Ghost Rider 2.0 The White (Krome cut) x Biker Kush V1.0 male.

Strawbanana Cream DNA’s Strawberry Banana x Karma’s White OG V2.0.

And the biker kush freebie mix is a mystery

Lot of excellent packs n choices..... not one is really a short indica except the kobain.... all the others have potential to have a stretchy phenos...

I would go with D-Kush, White Fire Alien, Pie Face, maybe Epoxy OG F1 if I wanted to keep the plants short and have a chance for those flowers to compete with Obama Kush (mendo purps x bubba?) heads on.

If you want a squat Indica plant then you're pretty much limited to the Kobain Kush F2 as all the others have some sort of Sativa influence in them.

Ya I noticed the kobain is a bubba cross so that should stay short and stout just like the obama, although in the description it does say it was crossed with the lotus to give it a bit of stretch... not sure if I wanna run another bubba cross at the moment or not though, might be interested in expanding my horizons

Not too sure on the polynesian cookie haze TBH. There's nothing about it on the pamphlet I got from the archive booth at the HTCC where I bought the beans, and on their website it does list polynesian thin mints which is Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies x Face Off OG Bx1, so that wouldn't be a haze right...?

nice - leafly lists it as a 60/40 indica sativa. How did it grow for you? Did you find any shorter phenos in there, or did you get a clone of it?

I've heard the GG4 stretches insanely right? I suppose if I found a pheno that was more bubba leaning it could stay short in theory though.

I've just ran throught 2 pcks of D-Kush, great strain with stocky phenos some more stretchy but a little prone to herm because of the Chem D mother & OG genetic... But you can find pure diecious fire in them with a little search

ya unfortunately this doesn't quite fit within the parameters of my current grow situation

From what I've seen it seems like the glue stretches like a mother fuker... I could try and find phenos that don't lean towards the glue, but in the long run I would more likely want the glue-leaning phenos...





After thinking about it some more I might just put these packs on hold for now. I still have some LVPK that I was planning on retiring, but honestly their short indica nature does kinda make them ideal for this situation... when I was flowering a couple clones originally to determine the sex (started from seed) I pulled about a half zip from each in a 0.75 gal container using floros that were over a decade old...

And after reading through Stoney917's thread and found this:

lvpk is the perfect example she aint all that until wk 9 she gets a grape red wine bitter smell that becomes intense by 70... not alot of ppl take her long enough cuz she looks so done much earlier...

don't think I've ever taken my LVPK past 60 days before, and now I'm intrigued...
