NATURE: what plants talk about
Its on netflix
This documentary is incredible. It explains so much and it applies greatly to out beloved cannabis. A friend of mine always said if he flowered one strain in each tray in hydro it did better than if strains were mixed. This documentary explains in detail how plants have animalistic behaviors that will blow your mind. The way roots behave is mind blowing. Green leaf volatiles? What? They communicate with bugs and other plants?! What!? Trichomes of plants effect the body odor of bugs that consume them!? What!? I found this to be super informative and i think this research could aid our industry. Maybe explain why cannabis is prone to certain bugs or could even "call out" to them. Or why certain bugs could need cannabis? I dunno, its awesome though. Thoughts?

Is there another thread about this trout? I was pretty amazed at some of the information here. Id love to see discussion about some of the aforementioned specific ways it could relate to cannabis.

Its just crazy and explains a lot. Even something simple like defoliation could cause our plants to send out a signal to other plants and pests. The root behavior is the most impressive science here to me. Take a big pot or a bed of soil, put diff strains in it and there is a literal war occurring in the medium. Crazy.

very informative information.. I always had bigger yields wen I did single strain per light.. haven't tried single light per room.

I think if you run beds or hydro tables the animalistic root behavior applies greatly. I will do my best from now on to fill my tables with one strain at a time.

ya.. I bet you if we started using those Rolls of rockwool.. underneath decent size pots.. we could see some very huge plants.. I wana say.. the wider the pot.. the bigger the plant will get? ive seen plants done in 3 gallon bags.. and 5 gallons.. that almost yielded the same.. but . wen I switched to doing 10 gallon bags. with 3-6 gallons of soil.. my yields went way up.. with the same amount of soil. just the soil was more WIDE then DEEP.

if this makes any sense..

It does, back in the day i thought roots mainly wanted to grow DOWN. Not true at all they love to grow out and downward as well.

having a mat and setting something on top and letting roots grow into mat has been done hydro for a long time...

I used to use coco mats underneath my rockwool back when i used chunks. Boy was that a mess and nothing ever did as well as they do now in slabs.
