Not really Swazi stuff with Chomba Mustaf ; yummy broz ; the line comes from Cape town and was reproduced indoor by PTG last year.
Full vibes to PTG and congrats Chomba, cheers broz'

Wow, looking nice that CapeTown sativa, the structure is nice, very squat, not many branching and thick stalk!

Some of their gear (ciskei, zambian,...) is actualy available ac Cannabiogen, and seems there's some collaboration between cannabioeen and the tropical seeds company, so there might be some I guess.

Yeah, indeed they used strains from Kaiki as the PCK and Nepal Highland in some of their strains. Also Cannabisonline.es sells them and they have there their official Tropical Seeds forum were they announce all the news, interviews, etc... there is a french speaking section too... :tiphat:

Hey! wonderful to see the 'South African' around!

I collected these seeds from a friend who gets a regular supply of 'standard swazi' from a rasta in noordhoek in Cape Town. It's not possible to know 100% whether this is swazi, as it could be pondo (ciskei), transkei or even durban area. 'Swazi' sells better, so everything tends to be sold as 'swazi' in CT!!

I sent them on to PTG and he did an amazing job of growing out many seeds, dealing with hermies and terrible pheno's and selecting the best to give us a wonderful, pure Southern African Sativa.

gives me much pleasure!

Hi !!

Just to show the Ghana from blackstar am'dam coffeshop i presented you in thast post a few month ago...
The pics are at day 75, the harvest day...

Smoke is very earthy with a heavy smoke, not too tasty but original. Good strain for smoking during the day...
And maybe a good one too for crossing...

Blessings...

Hola IC!!!

Ok, I think it´s time to gather all the info of African strains that we got / have info. Africa is special continent with interesting area´s & climates and there is long tradition of cannabis cultivation & smoking. Mainreason for this thread is that I would want to know more about strains that originates in Congo to Ivory Coast because I think that area is hiding the famed Black Magic African that I had honor to sample in mid 90´s. Many of the discussions I have got with my African friends from that area have revealed me that those countries / areas have very psychedelic strains. When I been smoking Power Plant with my friends and asked how the effects remind them of the weed they got in their homecountry, they have said that it has similar qualities like you stay active aso. but that the weed they got there is much more psychedelic and the high does last much longer.

There are so many interesting tribes who got different uses for our belowed herb and think about all the immigration that Africa has got. Different strains from different area´s of world combine with native African strains & African soil & sun = very special herb. I believe that there are lot´s of African strain to reveal that are cultivated by some tribe / little nation for spiritual purposes only, those are strains I am mostly after. So people, post all the myths & stories also you have heard and all the experiences you have got with African cannabis, so we may really succeed to get some useful information.

One important point in this discussion are the traditional curing techniques that are practised in Africa. I think that the special curing techniques are one of the reasons why African weed is so special & famed. So all the people who has info about these techniques, please share them with us!

Here are lot´s of folks in IC that know their African sativas and much more that would like to learn more about this mysterous continent, so please feel free to post.

Here is a nice pic from Bonecarver_OG presenting different Afican strains, the buds were growed by LaManoNegra:

Thanks for bumping it!! Somehow, I haven't seen it before...

Truly great info and lovely pictures in here!

I wonder if all those unhybridised or even untouched original landraces and local varieties are still kept alive by someone.
It's a pity that more and more landrace breeders and seed banks disappear/retire or worse, loose genetics, or have to sell hybrids and fems to stay in the black.
Sure, there's now SoA, Afropipes resurfaced under the Nguni Seeds brand, and a few Spanish seed banks like CBG offer one or another landrace as limited release now and then but they comprise only a fraction of all the herein mentioned African varieties.

I have tried the Congo/OT Haze, the Congo/Nepal and also the discontinued Congo/Oaxaca and Congo/Afgan, I can say I love that Congolese, unfortunately it was lost in pure form. Most of those african crosses by Tropical seeds have great reviews as active sativas in the spanish boards. It's a pity that they let aside the african sativas to focus into more commercial strains nowadays.

The Congo/Haze (Old Congo) is especially electric and clean in my opinion, that Pointe Noire Congolese is clean and active in pure form and the cross with OT Haze just makes it better and even more potent and clear. Not for the kush lover or the impatient I must say, plants finish around mid December! Congo/Nepal is more euphoric due to the Nepalese, faster and much easier to grow even indoors. It reminded me a bit to Nepalese Jam but more clean. Congo/Ciskei and Durban/Ciskei should be great electric sativas too but haven't tried them.

All this strains are some of those that make you think you are not high until you realize you are doing so many crazy stuff like dancing, cleaning the house and all that lol.

Mango Zamal has a few reports too, the Zamal line is the same used in some crosses from Female Seeds and ACE, sourced from GN Collection via Gerrit. So the cross with an indian sativa seems to be a wild sativa too.
