BHO Gummy Bear Recipe?

Is there a tutorial on how to make these? I have the basics of it, but there are a few places I'm lost because the entire process wasn't really revealed to me..... politics...

Here's what I know so far;

Use 1 Tbsp coconut oil per 7-10g of BHO, put together in a pyrex and decarb @ 275F until it's done (based on reaction)

That prepares the BHO for addition to the normal gummy bear recipe. (Which is just gelatin and water basically)

Where I'm lost is at what point to add the bio available oil to the gummy mixture, and how to determine how much is in each gummy.

I want to make gummies that contain 100mg each.

I'm not new to baking in general, just out of practice a bit :)

ok, so you just add the decarbed oil when the gelatin mixture is a hot liquid.

How do I determine how much BHO is in each gummy then?

You are just going to have to do the numbers bigjohnny,

Basically you will want to make 10 gummies per gram of bho if you want ~100mg per gummy. so how much does each gummy weigh? add to that weight 100mg and there you go :)
Then you take them to get tested and adjust your recipe from there.
That's what I would do. I'm sure there's some pros here that have another method.

Those are going to be some knock yer ass in the couch strong gummies, btw.

That's the point :)

I'm going to make a batch of gummies without the BHO and see how many I get from the recipe I have, then I'll scale it to make 40 gummies based on the roughly 4g of BHO that I have..... maybe 5g, so these gummies could really ruin someone's day lol.

I'm interested to see how they go. Id be interested in making some that would have much less in it. Maybe 10mg per gummy. Let us know how they come out.

I made a batch lastnight, worked out a decent recipe and got gummy stars wih 100mg and gummy bears with 300mg.

I ate two stars and I was basically toast.

I need to adjust the flavor because they are a bit bitter.

I used roughly 5g of bho and got what would be around 70-80 gummies.

I'll share it in a bit, I just tried halving it to make a smaller batch and ended up with 40 gummies, but each only has 90mg in it because I just divided the 28g of decarbed oil into 1/8's for the recipe.

So I used 1/8 of my decarbed oil, which was made using 3Tbsp coconut oil for 28g of shatter then tossing in the oven @ 250F for 2 hours.

that got me a total of about 83ml of said decarbed oil, 45ml of it being coconut oil (3Tbsp = 45ml).

Using half of the jelly recipe I added 10ml of oil, and got 40 gummies.

someone help me make sense of all these numbers so I can get a consistent recipe and hit 100mg minimum every time.

ignoring the above questions, I have one major concern and it's the addition of sugar.

I see other gummies that are sugar coated, but I coated a few and the sugar melted into a gooey mess, so I have like 20 "wasted" gummies.

How do you coat them in sugar and keep it all stable?

I watched a couple of youtube vids about making gummy bears. Not sure how to keep them stable. The guy was talking about the fridge.

I posted the recipe I was using, hoping to delete this thread or let it fall off the page list, but no biggie :)

I can make the regular gummies just fine, and theyre good too. It's just the addition of sugar to the outside.

Regular sugar just melts and gets gooey, but the recipe I'm using is sweet enough that I don't really need sugar on the outside.

That aside, it's been a bit rough trying to figure out the proper dosage to hit my target. As BHO is added volume increases and as volume increases you need to add more BHO..... it's an odd cycle.

you can try getting citric acid to coat them with. the kind from a cake/baking specialty type store. I had some gummies that weren't nearly as sweet that were coated with them. the citric acid is kinda bitter so if the gummie was sweeter it would have been better. you can also add sugar to it so it's sweeter but there are several sour patch kids recipes online.
hope that helps!
