Back after a 4 year hiatus!

Good day everyone!

I'm finally back on icmag after a long break. Last time I was on here I had a short-lived first grow journal of Thai sativa that had to be stopped.

Since then I've had a few seasons of growing out Thai and Indonesian seeds which where less than satisfactory. I had a massive problem with these plants and their tendency to turn hermaphrodite halfway through flowering. I live close to the equator in SE Asia and most of the plants I ran outdoors flowered indefinitely due to the minimal change in photoperiod throughout the year. The plants I ran indoors, well, 20-24 weeks of flowering and getting seeded hermy buds is not fun.

After all the frustration of dealing with untamed SE Asian landraces, I have decided to invest in quality genetics. What I ask you now, my fellow ICmag buddies, is:

1. Which companies deliver to my part of the world(SE Asia)?

2. Are there any members here who live in SE Asia and have had success with seeds being delivered to their respective countries?

Thanks for taking the time to read my somewhat lengthy post. Any information/help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome back PG.

I've definitely had seeds sent to Mala sia - probably from seedboutique - and if i remember rightly one of the two deliveries was seized. Since that I brought seeds with me on flights from the UK tucked into tiny places in my check-in baggage and that felt safer - though not sure it really was. As long as your safe address is very safe then you should be ok getting it sent - i think most seedbanks will send them to you. Thailand things seem to get through easily, Mala y sia less so, Indonesia I'm not sure about.

Don't live in Asia anymore - miss most things about place, except the nutty attitude to drugs. If they changed their minds on that, i'd be there in a second.

I miss being warm.

Thanks for the insight b8man! Sending sunshine and warm vibes to ya!

Ultimately if I decide against ordering seeds, I can always hold off on growing for a while and stock up next summer when I head to Europe. Will be in Amsterdam for a week so I can do my shopping there.

I'm not too comfortable knowing that there's the off chance my mail order could get intercepted entering the country, and it's usually more trouble than it's worth here in SE Asia. Especially in a country as small as the one I'm in.

I'm not concerned about the growing aspect and security, it's trying to get decent genetics that's always been an issue. One can only smoke so much Thai and Indo until getting sick of it.

Man, I remember when we used to get European and Aussie imports here when I was a teenager. That time seems so far away now. :(

welcome back PG-191,

i would imagine as long as you order the seeds to a non growing address it would be fine, even on the off chance they get intercepted it's unlikely they will follow up, if they do they will not find a grow anyway and the person can say they have no idea who sent those nor why, in the end you have no control of what you receive in the mail. so it's very easy to deny responsibility as long as no grow is going on in the address you use. but i understand the hesitation, bringing them back in checked in bags is a good way and you can claim they are souvenirs in the worst case. anyway gl with your quest for the right genetics.

Thanks gaiusmaurius!

The initial plan was to do exactly what you mentioned; have the package mailed to a safe separate address. I have reservations about this though as in my country denial of what you receive in the mail does not work like in most other countries.
The government uses a policy which goes along the lines of "since it's being mailed to you, you are obviously well aware of it's contents etc" and they WILL prosecute. There have been cases in the past where people have ordered glassware, only to get arrested a month or two after receiving the package. If what's being mailed has even the slightest connection to cannabis, the government will come crashing down on you. So as much as I'd like to have seeds mailed which would be the easiest way to get them, I wouldn't want anyone getting into trouble for it.

Bringing the seeds back in my luggage would be the best bet. Leaving Europe wouldn't be too hard. Though I would have a few hours transit in Dubai, then from there straight home. Hopefully everything goes off without a hitch.

I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but where there's a will there's a way! :D
