I wonder if it's similar to what's wrong for me starting seeds in rockwool - it's an alkaline medium, and my well water is alkaline.

I just tried to start a batch of seeds. They took off and then stopped.

I got some General Hydro. to correct my pH.

Sometimes when seeds don't grow it's because they're not getting food.

ph is fine ajusted to the correct range i use tapwater and ph down which gets it arounf 5.8 they are just over a week i am worried about the size and the droopiness of the leaves seems to be geting worst autos ak 49 thanks

Looks like a water problem to me. I guess the rockcubes are too moisty so you'll get root rot. The first week starts when there are two small leaves. In this week you dont give them any fertilizers. The second week you give them a small dose, this should be 20% of the regular dosage you would normally give. In the 3rd week you crank it up to 40-50%. From the forth week you need to crank it up all the way to 100%. But just build it up.

Don't give your plants too much water, rockwool keeps the water for a long period. It's better to have dried rockwool than rockwool thats too wet. In the early stages they don't even need much water, just give them 10ml of water. Let them stay until they show light symptoms of dehydration, the leaves should curl a little bit up and go vertically. Then you know how many days it will take to water them. After a while you'll notice the dehydration symptoms again, this is very natural because the plant will use more water so you give it like 15ml instead of 10ml water.

If you're using an ebb and flow system you need to play along with the cycle, the concept stay the same.

More so from over watering. Inadequate drainage (meaning heavy rock wool), roots having inability to breathe, if doing hydro.

Squeeze out some of that water, see those big thick veins in the leaf ..she's not got enough 02 in the root zone, a fresh airflow would remove the excess 02 in the leaf zone too, have you a small fan ..?

I promise you if those cubes at too wet your seedlings will die. I would blow a fan straight on them. Thats prolly your safest bet. I have gone as far as break in the cubes apart around the roots and moved them straight into my coco cups. I will never use rockwool again

This trick works better if u haven't put the plants in yet. But to pull out some of the excess water so they can root easier, stack 3 or 4 blocks, they will wick most of the excess water right out. As a matter of fact it works so good u better be doing it over a tub or sink to catch the water.

Just put the rockwool cube with the plant on top of 3 other already soaked rockwool cubes, it will be done in a minute or so, and u will feel it be quite a bit lighter.

Rockwool not being green id say that pic colour is way off. Id say those leaves r yellow.... doesnt look that way... but assuming the colour is off, looks underfed. Due to many reasons... I say if u dont know whats up... u need to go simpler.... soilless med. Chem nutes. Dead simple.. stop wasting time with something thats too hard for you. No offense..... dont give up...
