I love baseball... I played all through grade school, high school, and collage... Things were really go'n my way, until I f'd up and quit college for a 15$ an hr job... That was in 2001... Anyway, I live somewhere very close to the east coast... Def not n Atlanta Ga, but I like the Braves, because I grew up watching them with my grandfather... But since I've been reading I.C, witch was way before I decided to became a member, I've found myself watching almost every Giants game lol... But tbh about last nights game, I was hoping Wash. would've one because I think Zimmerman is a helluva pitcher... Then Williams pulls him out in the 9th when he walks Panik but was one out from a shout out and the win, wtf... Poor management imho... So after Matt W. piss'd me off last night, not that it matters, but I hope the Giants win the series...

:canabis::smoker:That was a huge win! I saw the the first couple of innings and Zimmerman came out throwing heat. Glad he made the mistake of pulling him. Matt Williams was still Giants mode at heart lol .

Bulldog - cool story. Wonder why they cried ? For the fact they got to see witness the experience, or that it was by Barry Bonds? Hahaha

As for me Giants has always just been in my life. Giants everything everywhere. Except it was my tias (great aunts, andn moms ) damn alchys ! LOL a lot ofbeers and of course I was a kid and stole a few thinking "giants are pretty cool" :smoker: :canabis:

You are a good dad, coaching little league. I was one of the lucky kids that had his dad assistant coaching most teams when I was young. I will never forget those moments, and also watching pro players like Barry Bonds. My dad and I were at the game where he hit 755 and 756 (breaking the all time home run record) and I will never forget it. There were two Dodger fans talking smack (in a friendly way) all game. When Bonds broke the record, the Dodger fans were crying it was so amazing. The entire park was on fire. Baseball will always be close to my heart for these reasons......

It was an exciting time in baseball, but then we find out they were all juicing, and they ended hurting the game a lot more than they helped. Unlike McGwire, Bonds won't admit it though because he's a dick, and even his own teammates hated him. The first day he joined the Giants he interrupted a pitchers meeting to tell the pitchers that he had hit home runs off of all of them. Years after retirement he still regularly blames teammates for losses. I seriously doubt he makes the hall of fame. Neither will McGwire or Sosa.

Seriously though, not trying to take anything away from the Giants. They are a great ball club, but Hank Aaron is the home run king, and I think most people agree with that.

I don't agree at all. I don't put any of the blame on Bonds. There are still hundreds if not thousands of players that deny taking steroids, I blame that on baseball.

Back in 98-99 when Mcgwire and Sosa were hitting 60+ home runs the league did nothing. Bonds at that point was already the best player in baseball, with numerous all star teams, mvps, gold gloves and had already achieved 500 home runs and 500 stolen bases. Nobody still to this day has even had a 400/400, yet alone a 500/500. All the glory was going to players that had little talent, and MLB was saying it's ok to juice. Nobody seems to like to remember the fact baseball was almost done, and due to the juicing era, it saved baseball. That is why they let McGuire and Sosa juice, however Bonds was the scapegoat.

IMO, Bonds was possibly the best baseball player of all time before he started juicing in 2000. His 2001 season, on roids or not, was simply amazing. The guy literally saw 2 strikes all game, and one would be a home run. Nobody in the history of the sport was even close to as good as Bonds in 2001. Whatever home runs bonds gained by roiding he lost due to not being signed to the Giants because of legal trouble. He still had three good seasons in him.

Another thing, baseball has banned other substances like ephedrine which was commonly used by players in the 60's. Should all those guys be taken out of the record books also? Just to trump all other arguments, steroids was not against baseball rules when Bonds was accused..............So why is he not the best player in history again? Because he was an asshole?

Just my opinion.

We all have our own opinions. Bonds wouldn't even make my top 5 list of greatest players of all time though

Stop by the baseball thread in the sports section. We could always use more fans.

Hank Arron baby!

Braves fan here , bonds was great no doubt about that. I was a kid when i saw McGuire and Sosa hit homers at a game in st. louis that year. I had no idea they were using performance enhancing drugs, was a huge letdown when it all came out. Players don't get near 60 homers these days. Not cool to cheat.

P.S. That giants game last night was stupid long, very enduring. Great win though, congrats.

Top 5 list all time, that sounds fun.......Just off the top of my head, I am sure my mind will change.....

1 Barry Bonds
2 Babe Ruth
3 Willie Mays
4. Ted Williams
5. Cal Ripken Jr.

Couple Giants in there for sure,. Rickey Henderson has to be up there somewhere....

I am feeling pretty good and relaxed going into today's game. I am hoping for a win and get on the road for the next series. A blow out would be nice so Bum doesn't have to go more than 5-6 innings.

Hope everybody has a good week, Monday's suck.

I was playing ball and the whole time this guy is pushing a sled with weights on it...up and down the sidelines .. I asked him what he was doing,..he told me in the offseason he works out in Tampa with one of the most elite PT's in the country and she trains people like Reggie Bush etc.... anyways Giants are a dope squad

That is awesome Storm Shadow. I have been in a bar and talked briefly to Zito and Lincicum in downtown SF. They were pretty hammered and acting like dopes, but it was still fun.

Bochi has said Pence is the lowest maintenance player he has ever coached. From his attitude to his work ethic, he doesn't spend much time in with the therapist and doesn't miss games due to injury. Sounds like you got to see first hand how he prepares himself for such amazing results.

Wow, look at Bonds. Sooooo much smaller. He was a health nut his whole career, but nowhere as much muscle. Will the thrill Clark and Matt Williams. Thanks for sharing
