What is the difference between Golden Tiger and Malawi

Their description is similar and they share the Malawi. I'm looking to cover different experiences. I'm thinking the GT and Malawi would overlap in their effects.

Does anyone have specific differences between the two? I need to chose only one. What does GT offer that Malawi doesn't?

dubi has answered this somewhere.

GT = malawi with improved taste
malawi = if you're looking for earlier individuals.

Welcome nodestar,

Malawi standard and feminized, and Golden Tiger standard, they all share the super strong and deep malawi effect.

Pure Malawi is more uniform and has higher rates of early flowering phenos. Golden Tiger standard is more diverse and you can find interesting Meo Thai phenos with a more 'clean-trippy' kind of effect. This phenos are slower to flower.

Golden Tiger's feminized version available for the past 2 years ago is another history, it's less Malawi dominant, more Double Thai dominant with higher desirable Koh Chang Thai influence. It provides a more refined and tasty thai experience.

If you are looking for a uniform line of devastating potency i would go for straight Malawi, if you prefer a more refined thai experience, then choose Golden Tiger fem.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for the help guys.
I ended up going with the Golden Tiger Standard for a chance at more diversity.

I also just picked up a pack of Tropical Mix from The Attitude Seed Bank. I was wondering what the pack might hold?

Thanks nodestar for supporting our work! Much appreciated!

The tropical mix for the past 2-3 years contains Haze x Thai hybrids, it will change for 2015. Good luck and enjoy with the growing cycle!
