welp, my ph went from 5.6 to 6.3 in 1 day. I phed it down today but I went to low to 4.9. should I add ph up or just see if itll drift up on its on with a few hours? I read somewhere that's its bad to add ph up and down in the same res. so I really don't want to add ph up. so please help!!

my pants looking good. lots a root growth in the last 24 hours. the only thing is one of the blades of a leaf got a little brown spot. im assuming it might be the light is to low?

Always pH every slowly. Even once you hit your mark, walk away for a few hours and it will drift. Pay attention to the drift and it will help you dial in amounts of pH up or down.

yeah, ive noticed it drifts up by like .3 in just a few hours. and its stayed steady around 5.5-6 in 2 days.

I think there is a problem with the amount of nutes you're giving. Your plants are taking more nutes than water. This should increase your pH and decrease your PPM/EC. I think this caused your problem. So measure your PPM meters.

Which brand of nutes are you using? When it comes to nutes it's better to use a product of one line only, don't combine other products. I know enzymes can cause a high pH. Also some products don't get along with an airstone.

And always keep it simple, don't fall in all those stupid products which promise you a ton of yield. Just master the watering, temps and your yield will be much higher.

About your ph+ question. It is wrong to combine pH+ and pH- for ex in a measuring cup this will cause some negative chemical reaction. But in a res it doesn't matter because it's going to be mixed. I wouldn't use pH+ because you might fuck up your res.

Oh and just in case, calibrate your pH and PPM/EC meters. This is an easy process everyone can do. Just check out the manual it came with. Calibrate your meters every 2 months.

The aeration of a 45L/min pump after a half hour will change 5 gal my tap water from approx 6.7-7.1. Some days it will be more or less. (up 0.3-0.5)

If your municipality uses chloramide or chloramine, those will take longer to gas.

You can add pH up after going too low. It would be better if the plants were not exposed to the 4.9 water.

The pH up of what is probably potassium hydroxide (KOH) . The OH- will form with a H3O+ or H+ and make a water molecule. The K will be insignificant (<1ppm) and will act as a nutrient available.

When you swing pH levels too low or high, you can sever complex chelated molecules.

Hope this helped, good luck !!
