Going into the playoffs the Giants were looking ROUGH!! However after the first wildcard game, the Giants looked great. I forget about Brandon Crawford is soooo clutch, and Mad Bum has ice water in the veins come playoff time.

Just wondering what other are thinking our chances are to getting to another World Series? What are our chances in the first round? Can we beat the Dodgers in the second round if they advance? Who is going to be in the Series from the AL?

Love baseball, especially when my team is in the playoffs.

I like their chances personally. Peavy against the Nationals first guy is good match up. Peavy got got stats, Hudson 2nd game is good too. I think he's already pitched a no hitter against Nats so he's been there. Bum game three is good. He's in a zone right now...hopefully petit gets the 4th . They doing a 4 man rotation. Bullpen is pretty healthy and Giants always seems to play better with their backs against the wall and odds against them. But then again I'm a giants fan. But I do like their chances . And who's to say the Cards don't take dodgers out ? October baseball boyeee

Oh and I think Angels knock out Royals

Tim Hudson threw a no hitter when? Hes been god awful for the last month and Jordan Zimmerman was one of the best pitchers in baseball all year. Not to mention when he absolutely shut down the giants last time they played. Game two is not a good matchup for giants.
Voglesong will start game 4 in sf if needed, not petit.
I am a giants fan as well, but be realistic man.

Ya IDK bro. I'm just biased. But I like their chances. Man as long as they pitch well and Giants get some hits. Baseball is funny random sometimes

I see what Nade is saying about Game 2, however the resent stats are much more in line with what BakedBandid was saying.

If you put the Giants on paper, without Cain and Pagan, they might be the weakest team in the playoffs, before the wildcard games. However it's the X factor the Giants carry. You could say team chemisty, Buster Posey, pitching, but I believe the X factor is Bruce Bochy. Dude makes the right calls at the right time come playoffs.

We all remember the giants in the late 90's early 2000's right? Bonds, Kent, Snow, Arullia, Peter Happy, Andres Galaraga, Woody, Jason Smit, Rob Nen, Tim Worrel, Shawn Estes. On paper they were a way better team in almost all areas. However, Dusty Baker put Livan Hernandez in to start game game 7, for which I will never forgive.

The difference maybe, Bruce Bochi? I am sure it's lots of different things, however that is my main vote.

I agree with that ^^ Bochy really does play that "chess match baseball" per say. He makes the right adjustments with what players are available to him.

Game starts at 12 western time today, got my chip dip and veggie sticks ready. Told the wife she is either watching with me, or she needs to find a friend or two to hang out with, because the daughter and I (18 months) are watching the game. She wont remember any of it, but if the Giants go all the way I can tell her you watched every game.

GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Mrs. Babba, glad to welcome another Giants fan. I hope this goes like our last thread in 2010 and 2012. The wife and I have front row lazy boy chairs for the game, hope you and the hubby have good seats as well. Go Giants!

Good game Giants!

Pulling the first game, away, is huge. Our ace is going in game three with at worst a 1-1 series. Good job Giants, keep it going.

Good win def. But man that was a scraper! Nats are bringing power and speed for sure. Hadn't watch them play at all this season. If the Giants can pull the 2nd game would be huge. They can , they gotta tighten it a bit. From my biased ass point of view of course.

How those chips n dips treat ya Bulldog ?

I played baseball up to the college level and nobody that plays would ever post up that type of stuff on instagram. Like you said, "Jinx Muhfuggas" lol. Glad the baseball Gods overlooked that one, whew.

Thats good to know. I'm an instinctive natured type of peraon. And I'm usually in a high state of mind so instinctively when i think "damn what a hater , probably never even played baseball" it's more often right on then.

I never played anything, my parents sucked like that. But I have been coaching little league on my 3rd year now. We do great which is impressive. But now that my kid is 7 and plays watching baseball is just much more fullfiling ...so to say(i guess the bond we have now as father and son). Especially as a fan getting to root for the team you support. In this case being a Giants thread. Been some good games lately too.

Peace

You are a good dad, coaching little league. I was one of the lucky kids that had his dad assistant coaching most teams when I was young. I will never forget those moments, and also watching pro players like Barry Bonds. My dad and I were at the game where he hit 755 and 756 (breaking the all time home run record) and I will never forget it. There were two Dodger fans talking smack (in a friendly way) all game. When Bonds broke the record, the Dodger fans were crying it was so amazing. The entire park was on fire. Baseball will always be close to my heart for these reasons......

O yea, you guys catch that game yesterday? INSANE!!! When they took Zimmerman out I was like wtf? I told my wife as soon as Matt Williams came out of the Nationals dug out, "This could be a huge mistake, Zimmerman has been rolling through the Giants." GLAD I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Giants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
