I'm about to get forced to do a little of that. Looks like it'll work OK. Good luck. -granger

A trick to bending the stems so you don't snap them, is to first Pinch the spot on the stem you want to bend, and in the direction of the bend. Don't pinch too hard or you will destroy all the cells in the area and potentially lose the top, but most likely really slow it down.

So after moderately pinching you do the nice slow bend, you'll notice how much easier it bends and more relaxed, since the water pressure in the stem tissue is gone.

This will help you avoid snapping the stem and having the preform surgery or lose it all together.

It also works well in veg and other scenarios/plants.

I used to bend the stalks from the top and holding a point on the stem, and I remember all too well those broken tops, not bent.

You can point the top to the ground, should even itself out by next day.

Also, if you happen to snap it use a tape and wrap it along the area where it snapped. It heals nicely.

Actually I learned to bend like that even if you still have enough space available. It develop biger size on your top colas.

Bend them before watering.
Less chance of snapping stems.
Carefully squish and crush the stems between your fingers until the stem is soft but not mush. Then bend the branch in the direction you want to train them to grow.
This works great all through vegitative state.
If they are much further along in flower than Paddi's when you do this, the stems won't recover. They will stay broken and be very fragile until harvest. The increasing weight of the growing buds will pull the stem down and they will have to be taped and supported to stay in the light.

A lot of people do that to expose them to the light. They will be fine. BTW I think 2 weeks of vegging is more than enough. Some seed lovers don't even veg they start right away on 12/12.
