That looks spot on bkgk.... hey frank i think ol still got it..., he sent me a list of his moms recently pretty sure i saw bkgk... i got to search for info better yet ill just ask for the list back.. there were a few others that were thought to be lost to...

This plant is such a pleasure to grow. Beautiful structure, very little training needed, easy to please; great looks, potency, taste and yield... I just love it. Yours is definitely reaching its genetic potential, very nicely done.

As for the name... some folks in Portland have started calling it 'Mendo Bubba' just to avoid that highly-inappropriate name. Join us.

Stuff looks killer. Nice job. "The aftermath" would make awesome tables, lacquer em up or something and put a piece of glass on top.

Almost forgot to post the final weight!

buds: 523g
trim (including fan leaves with frost): 478g

as you can probably tell, I trim my buds EXTREMELY tightly. It's ridiculously time-consuming and I make less money in the end, but I like presenting a second to none product.

So ya the yield wasn't the best, but I suppose it wasn't terrible considering the constrained veg space I was working with. Also if I'm not mistaken bubba kush is a pretty low yielder, yes? Which would help explain some of it.

Amazing stuff bad habits. Can you tell us a little more about how she was grown? Straight coco with top drip?

I use botanicare readygro aeration mix which is a coco/perlite mix. Top drip to waste.

What is this bkgk you guys speak of? I'm unaware of the strain.

yeah it was pretty easy to grow for the most part. Had some bumps transitioning into flower but it worked itself out eventually.

And I'll definitely have to keep in mind the name switch! Mendo bubba from here on out perhaps...

On your pics of the plant carcasses you called it the aftermath, they'd make awesome little tables, dipped in a clear epoxy w/ glass on top  Appreciate the trimming too all the dispensary weed I've seen lately is scraggly as hell.

@dank frank and DJXX: those buds look incredible. I love bubba kush, and I love purple strains so these are right up my alley  I'm glad people in here were able to correct me and let me know Obama is a bubba cross. Awesome!

Here's the next table the day before chop after being de-fan leaved.

With the HPS on through method 7s:

I did this table a bit differently. The table before (original table on first page) I did 4 plants in 10 gal pots with about a 60 day veg. These 4 plants I topped multiple times and trained in veg.

This table I did 6 plants in 7 gal pots with about a 50 day veg, and did zero topping or training in veg. I did still use the screen for support though once I flipped, and tied the side branches out a little bit for better light penetration.

I'll be interested to see if the higher plant count (although roughly the same overall amount of coco) with no training with yield better or worse than lower count trained plants.

Another thing I will be observing is the quality of the dry/cure on this table I just chopped down. Up until this point I've always dried in my bathroom in conditions that weren't ideal: heat in the 80s because it's summer, and some light because I have to use the bathroom.

I'm doing a deep clean of my flower room and a few mods after this round, so I don't have any more plants in the room and for the first time I'm drying in there in pitch blackness around 65f. The buds I've dried in my bathroom have always come out very dank and smelly, so I'm curious if this will take this to the next level!

Well done again. You running her 9 wks all the time, every time? Ever taken her to 10?

I'm really surprised to see that you are vegging as long as you are...in as big of pots as you are in...and still not getting bigger numbers with her...

That was one of the things we loved about the BKGK - was it vegged faster - you know, not like a bubba cross...hahahaha. I know bubba takes her sweet time...but always worth it.

And fwiw - Retardo Motabon made the seeds that BKGK came from - and he said it was the Bubba that brings the purple, and I'd have to say my experiences match that. So, I'd have to assume, the Obama is quite Bubba dominant?

How would you say she differs from Bubba in high, taste, smell, etc...

:tiphat:not an east-coaster, I'm in OR.

Also, what nute line do you run?

I run the floranova series: grow, rapid start, bloom, liquid kool bloom, floralicious plus and add in calmag because I'm in coco.

holy shit snacks!
that is some frosty kush

Thank you sir.

Hiya Dank Frank, thanks for dropping knowledge as always man.

These first 2 runs I have run her right around 60 days both times. Maybe next time I'll take her to 10 and see what happens?

I'm also pretty bummed about the low harvest #s... just finished curing this 2nd round yesterday and the final tally was 516g, so pretty much identical to my first run (523g).

There are some explainable factors to this: low veg lighting (only 6 bulb t5), and transplanting the day of flip. Also had a scare that I might have RAs which I never really confirmed, but I bombed everything and am currently deep cleaning my flower room... hopefully it wasn't RAs and just the other 2 factors!

I've never grown straight bubba or straight mendo purps so it's a bit hard for me to comment on which way it leans definitively. I'd probably guess for plant structure it's similar to the bubba though.

so is it still impossible to get OGK genetics?

probably a question Dank Frank would be more apt at answering
