Not only is the next moon the Hunters/harvest moon, but it is a red moon and it will have a lunar eclipse on the day of the full moon. No idea how often this happens, but seems unusual. Cool beans!

Its been raining for 2 days and 2 nights straight. Its gonna be nice tomorrow, than its gonna rain again on Saturday.
Not good since 4x - GG4's, 3x - GrandoggyApeOG's, 1x - Chemical Blue, and 1x - LemonGrapes/Blueberry/SweetTooth hybrid,
are a couple days away from week 8.

What perfect timing for a beautiful 10 day weather forcast! Keep it up nature then rain like a motherfucker this winter. ..
Couple shots from the past month, had a major miscommunication on the trellising this year and some of the plants paid for it. Will be remedied next year. Hope everyone is feeling stoked and blessed right about now and pushing through the last leg of the race.

Yep, other than seed plants and one Malawi that aintnt gonna finish. The big girls got cut when I saw botrytis setting in and started finding caterpillers inside dense ass buds where I knew BT or neem wouldn't reach. I figured a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush and cut early. Was glad for it, we had seven days of cold damp rain immediately after cut. I even built a fire to take the damp off the house because the drying buds were still near fresh moist after a week hanging. Annoyed that they probably could have gone another few weeks and put on weight but the trichomes were majority cloudy.

Same here with the rain. Started getting botrytis on a bud here and there so we cut em.

Heres the largest bud of the grow I think. Theres a few runners up Ill tell ya!

how is the vermifire working out for you? i've heard mostly good things about the fire. haven't tried it yet... i've heard some horror stories about it burning young plants that get planted directly in it without any buffer soil surrounding rootballs, but i'm thinking about using it for 100 gal smartie dep plants next year.
how would you compare it to the keystone bio ag soil? i checked out the penn valley website but it didn't really have much info aside from the fact that they use midwest biosystems technology.

good question to ponder for most OD farmers right now, considering the little wet/cold snap in late september caused a fair share of folks to cut early and suffer problems. and with concentrate demand absolutely through the roof right now….
anyways, just remember that BHO production in cali is still 100% illegal no way around it. most raids in my county are for hash oil labs, from CLS systems to a glass tube in a backyard, they are making headlines. and from the latest TopShelfLife incident, its apparent the DEA is willing to step in and investigate it, most "extract artists" (lol such a funny term) probably got a small wakeup call from that. its a felony, manufacture of a controlled substance, quite similar if not the same as operating a meth lab. we built our own CLS system and bought multiple ovens but i dont want them anywhere near the farm, and dont want to be caught operating or using them. so going to contract it out for a price to be disclosed later in the year to see if it works, and keep the entire setup multiple counties away.. i know some clubs that contract out and just pay a flat rate per gram fee of anywhere from 8-15 per gram, depending on quality, prepackaged, nug run/vs trim, amber vs wax

I have a soil analysis on the VermiFire soil and the Potassium is almost 3 times higher than Calcium and Magnesium. Albrecht standards call for Ca and Mg to be 70% or so of the TEC and K to be in the 5% range. I think these soil people are using too much green waste in an effort to make more money on the soil blend, and that pushes the K way too high. EWSF had the same problem and it makes the soil lockout important nutrients and your plants will suffer. Sure, the plants will grow, but not at the potential that good soil will bring. Hope that helps you out. If your looking for soil DEMAND a current soil test. If they say "we don't play that game here" as EWSF did or tell you they don't have one, then move on to some dealer that can give you one. Faith based soil mixing has no place in the effort to grow large plants. PM me if you want info on where you can get some good soil. Tom's mix at the beginning of this thread works great, but you need to feed them throughout the year either soup style or with foliar.

I wonder what methods you big plant growers implement in harvesting and drying...especially you all pushing 200lbs+
Staggered harvest or one fell swoop? Hang dry or flat? Deleafed or not? While on the plant or while putting to dry? Wet or dry trim? Do you only pull from the dry rooms whats going to be trimmed that day? Or are you taking everything down the same day and storing them in a particular way until ready to be trimmed?
We've got our hands full with different strains here. We harvested the first set of plants that were finished by the 1st and 2nd, letting those hang dry together for about 5 days then running them through the trim team. I'm thinking we keep them dark and cool in sealed tubs while theyre waiting to be trimmed, burping them several times a day. Next bulk harvest is probably the 7th and 8th, hoping to have the dry rooms cleared by then to put those up. Same deal of 5 days and tubbed, then the last big harvest on the 14th and 15th. Things are about to get pretty fast paced here. I'm just hoping we can pull it off in a reasonable amount of time without compromising the finished product by letting them sit around and get too dry.
This has been a year of many many firsts for me, but i have a feeling these next couple months will be the most trying. Wish me luck!
