Stoney get mosquito dunks and sprinkel them over top of your medium try to cover the top within two weeks gnats will be gone. I tried everything to get rid of gnats then finally got the dunks and they work great. You can buy 6 doughnuts at Walmart or lowes for Under 10 bucks.

Stoney,

Its mainly cedar oil I believe, it works ok. I wasnt a big fan of it when I put it in my res.

The mosquito dunks are what I normally use. Its BTI, a biological that they eat and messes up their growth cycles. There are other products that contain the same ingredient. Its basically the go to for organic. Don't forget, keep things as dry as possible, and cut any source creating algae.

I usually throw a piece of mosquito dunk in res's when I got the gnats also.

The label says a dunk does quite a bit of surface area, so if treating a res u can use just a 1/4 of a dunk. When I crumble and spread them out I use 1 dunk for about 3 or 4, 3 gallon pots. If ur using some kind of auto watering make sure some of the dunk is under the water stream. Or if ur hand watering make sure to saturate the dunk material each watering.

If u wanna go all out use a spray and sticky traps to wipe out the flyers and kill off the colony that much faster. If u have drain water throw a piece of dunk in there too.

Get mosquito bits not dunks. Same company, much higher concentration of bti, and no crushing or soaking necessary. It comes with a saltshakeresque lid so u just have to shake it onto your soil.
Hope that helps
Good luck, I hate those little gnat bastards

Is that what they are called, I havnt used those yet.

Home Depot has misquito bits, Basically mosquito dunks in a shaker (5$), Worked great for me in hydro, but would also work good in soil. I would also add it to your water 24hrs before you feed. The enzymes will mix in the water and kill the larve.

Ya all I do is crumble enough to just cover the top of the medium. 1 whole dunk should do a couple pots easyily.
