(thats skunkdawg in the 4" pot in the upper left - totally different looking individual)

i think the Dog leaves have a definite indica dom look to them...
but the plant grows sativa dom

freshly transplanted into a 10g pot and fitted with a cage. the 48" was replaced a few days later with a 54" cage.

Will get some flower shots of mid flower in the next few days

aloha

I think I have the same cut , was given to me as original og and it's supposed to yield high and is popular among commercial growers . Smells a lot like chem but the bud can still pass as og.

Aloha kākou.
Been away from the keyboard for a bit, but been steady grinding away. Trying to make the garden even better.

The Dog is the bomb. Best smelling, best tasting, best feeling buds. Wish it was a little heavier in the yield department but I am working on that - training training training.

The cage is firing!!!!

She doesnt make for the biggest colas, as the bud sights have plenty of space between themselves. Supercropping the tops kind of helps tighten things down some, but nothing took crazy.

here's a look at a Dog just starting to get is bloom on...
She's a pretty lanky girl

but if I can keep training them like this I will be okay
even though it looks like 6oz it will probably be only 3 maybe 3.5. Be nice to be wrong, but Ive been growing this gal pretty hard for almost a year now... pretty sure I know how she'll put out on the scale.

looks very nice. good healthy veg color.
but the description doesnt sound right at all.
Sounds like you have the West Coast D.O.G.?

about my Dog....

the yield on the Dog is very low. Horrendously low. A similar sized Chem D will be double the Dog's yield. Valley OG even out-yeilds it 30%. The buds will come out a .5-1g each but no huge "take a picture of the size of this" colas. The demand for it though is thru the roof - one can never have enough Dog.

I don't get any chem in the smell at all. When I say "chem" i mean as in chem D (as I haven't had experience with the 91). What I do get is a mix of strawberry starburst, black licorice, and og kush kind of rainbow thing though. Its some of the best smelling and best tasting pot I have ever had. A joint will taste the same at the finish as it did at the start.

I have also noticed it doesnt pod up real pretty like the Valley OG or Chem D do, either... it stays looking like crip old school pot from yesteryear. Which I don't mind. The smell will win over anyone who doubts the look though, automatic.

The plants in the cage have another 7-10 days, depending on how the weather is (the luxuries of outdoor growing hahaha), so I should be able to get some more pics of them before they meet the axe. I can't wait.

Father Earth… Definitely not the same cut.

The D.O.G. is a clone I originally obtained from ORGNKID and spread to the boys in norcal. Some kinda fruity-ish incensey bubba hybrid, IMO.

The dog I've been keeping and showed you hasn't really reminded me of a bubba-brid, I remember you thought it was more diesel. That was years ago; You think they're the same?

Great pics Greyskull, if you got the real girl, right on man. I bet the terpenes go next level in that good light.

Tying her over does give great yields but she was always so good it was usually big natural style bushes of her, that got her the big yield tag a long time ago. She didn't get too stretchy between the nodes like a sat was mostly indica in every way, not the fastest grower but not the slowest, 12-15 inch main cola 8-10 inches on the trained bushes. Majority of the buds were dense half ounce nugs the size of a pepsi can with a greasy feel, rotten skunky and fine hash odor, while from a distance she is like effervescent fuel, a darker green variety with a distinctly contrasting orange pistil color. As dense as it is it has a certain pyramidal semi-sativa calyx structure that lets you break it down easily calyx by stacked calyx We called it dog cause it is stinky dank like a dog who's been in the river all day, and cause it was easy to say to your friend on the phone "hey bring that stinking dog with ya." Nice to see a thread with some growers who have found the dog worthy of keeping.

Cannascholar, i'm not sure when you originally picked her up but she was holding it down throughout Portland before the emergence of all the chem strains I've been holding on to her since 02/03, very rewarding plant, to this day better than much of what has come around imo. How did the light dep come out?, I can't see.

All your descriptions make me think they are the same other than the yield description. I gave her to a friend in Seattle and he reported low yield with his too, but I have not had the issue. I've always thought of the sweet side of her flavor as on a cherry type flavor but it really does have a myriad of things going on, very complex. One thing is for certain, you can not have enough. It really is so tasty with one of the longest durations of palatal resonance I have encountered, you just want to smoke it to taste it again.
