sorry it took me a minute to get back on here fellaz.went on a vacation for a while and was gettin me some much needed r/r...im back tho,my helper had some troubles in the veg room this time while i was away...i been back a week today and i have things getting back on stride...i didnt know if i was gonna be able to pull it off but w some tlc and my stubborn ass mind over matter i managed...these pics are a few days old,i will take fresh pics in a day or 2 to show u whats poppin off now.

the cloner w some tk,the rest will be new mamas if i need to use them...i didnt know wat was gonn ahppen w some of the vegging mamas so i hurried up and took cuts of them....oh did i mention the last 60 cuts i took dies while i was gone?....i think it was the hard collars for the cloner,choked them out i believe.
here goes the area of veg that took the hit....they looked worse but i cleaned them up and was treating them for a few dyas by time i took these pics...

like the title says ur bro has some troubled ass water around here,literally...
its like this,about a month or so back the city i live in had a water issue...couldnt drink it,couldnt shower w it,couldnt wash dishes w it etc...had to use bottled water for everything.the situation was something to do with algae bloom in the water that we use or whatever....that lasted a few days,then they said the water was safe to wash w drink etc....but there is a problem with gardening with it for sure...whatever theyre treating it with is no good for the grow.it even has a soapy type smell to it.
ever since then ive had issues with getting cuts to root in my cloner...also the last runs of p1 and angel og were so pretty,stinky,and they had almost zero taste...had me dumbfounded until i realized it HAS to be the water...i didnt do anything different then i ususally do,but the garden is looking like shit in my eyes...i mean if u look at them,they look healthy,theyre green,and they have structure,its that i know at this point of their cycle they should be much more fuller and fatter.also i have noticed that the tips of leafs are looking like they have nute burn,they dont though because like i said i aint doing anyhting different then ive done in the last years and years,but the garden is looking like i am.
what i need is some advice,ideas,input,personal experience of how i can remedy this situation.
as far as the cloners go i can easily go get gallons of good water and fill them with that and that should get my cloners back in gear.
the problem i have is with flower,i sometimes use 30+ gallons at a time between both rooms if everything needs fed/watered...i was thinking about getting an R.O. machine but then someone in chat told me that them things have so much waste and take so long to make 30 gallons that i might end up going thru 300 gallons of water just to get my 30...if thats the case thats a shitload of water id waste and have to pay for....
there is a aquasina filtration system at home depot that the brother Batty linked me to that im thinkin i might need to get.
but if anyone else has any other suggestions im all ears yo.
what im most worried about is getting the taste back in there,lets face it,tasty weed is more sought after then bland weed no matter where we are yo.
ill take some pics but like i said,other then a few burnt tips there aint much that looks wrong with them,its the point of what stage theyre at and how little they are at the stages...its all off.
ive been in there looking for light leaks,none...ive changed the bulbs on one side doing the other side this week,i really doubt thats it...
even the last round of p1 was huge but the taste wasnt there...this round i have in there atm is at day 30 and they look not even half the size as the other round at this time.

I'm sorry for the troubles bro! Can the loss of taste can be linked to a genetic issue?
It happened to me with a crazy smelly ex.cheese mom, in some point of its life and many offsprings it lost all the taste. Pretty crazy, it was a odorless plant, where it was really smelly in the firsts offspring, where I had the original mom.
Can you exclude this?
However, don't you check pH and EC values? Never done? They're often a good indicator of what's going on.
Did you check the local water company for data sheets on the water, any modification, or any advice made in the last period?
About algae, I think you should investigate further. Can be related to planktothrix rubescens algae? It seems to be an issue in many parto of the world, but i don't know if it's the case.
Finally, can't you chat with some other growers near where you live, using the same water? Maybe going into a growshop and just asking the owner if he knows anything, or going to some plant nurseries and ask them too.

Theres R/O units that have a 1:1 waste to filtered water ratio their big and expensive tho and some commercial units are even more efficient.
Those R/O units pumping out 20 gallons of reject water for 1 gallon of clean water are either old, or totally incorrect in assembly. Its usually 3 gallons waste per 1 gallon clean.
Im using a Stealth R/O 200 GPD from Hydrologic and I put in a 2:1 waste reducer thing that comes with it.
maybe I should record the amount of waste made for one gallon, I got the measuring buckets.
Theres a new system called Zero Waste where they pump the reject water back into your hot water line...
Sounds disgusting having all the shit water recirculating into the "fresh" water.
I like no reasons Idea of asking other locals about hte water situation.

No reason pretty much summed up my suggestions. Though the first thing I would do is call the water company and find out what exactly they are adding to the water. Once that's known, I'd call a water purification company (the kind that sells softeners, filters, 5 gal. jug and dispensers you see in offices, etc) and ask them what they have for options that will remove whatever the water company is adding. RO is wastefull, but a good unit will have a 1 to 1 waste ratio (i.e you get one gallon of RO for every gallon of waste water). I'm guessing there's probably a better option, but if nothing else RO will likely take care of your problem.
RO waste is a direct result of inadequate line pressure and not directly the quality of the filters or the "unit"...
Proper line pressure reduces waste - the pumps are typically more expensive than the filter system, so people skip them - but then end result is running 35psi when you should be running 80psi.
Yes there is some "waste" whatever that really means - it's not like it magically disappears from the earth... ...but really, I couldn't imagine growing without RO - basically, on site spring water...
It's just a matter of eliminating possible variables that could affect the outcome of your crop - using RO gives you a constant input...it's really a no brainer, in my opinion...

I rock an ro and I have decent water. I noticed a huge improvement in growth and bud quality in my soil grows years ago when I bought one, so I never turned back. I know that everyones situation is different geographically. Theres Lots of rivers where I live and the "waste" water that is probably cleaner than most peoples flowing back into the river doesnt bother me. The waste water is drinkable coming out of my ro ppms are usually less than 150.
I have a 1000gpd and a 300gpd both from hydro logic. I spent the extra money to save me some time and also have had res's with float valves and bal valves hard lined into the units plumbing.
You can also look into distillers if your in a water sensitive area.
If your curious you can buy some distilled water and do a few waterings with it and see how things react.

thanks fellaz.....R.O machine is ordered and will be here Wed. gonna get some distilled water in the cloners tomorrow,forgot to get it when i was out n about today,doh!

Glad you decided to grab the RO unit, I would suggest grabbing 2-3 or 4 heavy duty Rubbermaid Brute 44 gallon trash cans from Loews or Home Depot. You can fill those up with the RO machine and then let them sit until you need them. I throw mine in the bathtub so if it overflows it just runs down the drain. Just my 2 cents.

might need some extra magsul, to help with "calmag " uptake.. but i noticed that my regimen was performing better with ro.
