Main culprits for SEEDS in your plants??

Lately ive been getting some plants with seeds in them. I run 4 tables and to be honest im kinda stumped. No males on premises.

Other than an issue where the lights were left on for 6 days straight in week 3 of flower once, everything is fairly tight. Rh is been higher than desired with spikes up to 65% on occasion but im getting that under control.

What else could cause the beans? its like 4-6 plants out of 50.

I've grown quite awhile and never had seeds until this run with an AC that leaks light out of the vents. If you can see your hand in front of your face holding it out around 2 ft that's not good.I never took this too seriously before that's why I did this run knowing that 2 hours out of the 12 there is a good bit of light coming in.I take it seriously now as I know without any question the light leak gave me seeds

unstable genetics ...I have noticed more herms with sats than indys too...stress of any kind can bring out the nanners it would seem...I don't consider myself a pro but I have grown a lot of strains/weed..i have also made so many mistakes over the years...some strains would herm at various levels of my fuckups some never did in the same grow???????

1) light leaks
2) overfeeding high concentrations of nutrients
3) heat
4) genetics

Those are the reasons for herms. Keep in mind that around 15-25% of todays strains will herm naturally through genetic traits. If growing from clone then the first 3 are your indicators of what went wrong. Growing from seed would need all 4 factors considered.

It's caused by stress. Every strain handles stress differently, some are pretty resistant while others ain't. The stress could be caused by many factors such as overall temperature, temperatures in the rootzone, watering problem, even the temperature of the water can cause problems, light problem. Which strain are you growing?

Root space is a big cause of hermies for me with 2 strains I have . If they get root bound they start sexing way early as well as hermies .

Do your mystery seeds sprout? is the pollen sterile.

Do the plants hermi everytime/same strain?

10% is a high ratio, correcting one variable at a time will pinpoint the
problem, so you know what to adjust the next time.

Still sucks, though.

Good thread.

This has been a persistent problem for me, many diff breeders. I locked out any possible light leaks, still happens. I think I'm not getting em enough fresh air/c02. that's my number 1 essential upgrade right now.

other than? lol.. thats your culprit right there.. STRESS from lights being on for 6 days.. shit.. i had a tiny light leak and had hermies. i cant imagine fucking with the photoperiod.

if not.. then it could be stress.. or unhealthy clones.. this is why most take extra clones.. anything thats not super vigorous u dont plant ..

so it could be light.. it could be genetics.. and it could be nutes..

could of been the 4-6 were stressed before.. and the lights being on pushed them over the edge and they thought shit.. im not doing well.. I need to make sure I live on.. some way or another.. so lets toss out some pollen. ..

there's only one cause of seed. pollen. there's 2 sources of pollen, male plants and hermies.

the end.

really...you don't think this might have had something to do with it??

if you're gonna keep growing from seed i suggest you do this to all your future plants and then cull again in week 4-5. i'm assuming you grew from seed since you're throwing the word beans around.
