Tiger Berry... Sopposed Chinese Landrace

I Just started some freebies i got from Hempcon on 420 this year. 4 of them to be exact of a strain called Tiger Berry. The guy told me they named it Tiger Berry because if i remember correctly it was from China i think in a place known for Tigers. The plant the seeds came from smelled like Berrys the guy told me. I got the freebies donating for Ewok seeds so maybe that says something but i don't remember the breeders names. Maybe it was Alien Genetics but i doudt it, i didn't see any sign so yeah. Don't exactly remember. The guy said the Tiger Berry strain was bred in individual strain plots in Norcal for 4 generations of growth after they brought it to america so they should be pretty stable. i was excited to try these freebies and hopefully fulfill a breeding project with them. Im also starting up 3 bagseed Bubba Kush. Currently in veg there are also 2 ACDC cuttings. I plan to mother out one of them and take cuts, and use some for seeds, and probably flowering the other one out in a few weeks. Also i have in veg a interesting Tahoe OG cutting a friend took from a bagseed he grew, and also a 3 week old Kingsbread another Sopposed landrace, and a strain called Jamaican which may very well be a combination of some jamaican landraces also the same age as the Kingsbread. Also started a grapeape from homboldt bred by a veganic grower i started for fun and its now 5 days old and looking good! I am excited for the breeding this round!
I am growing everything in a vegetable, peat, and coco based medium amended with worm castings, plenty of perlite, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, azomite, and granulated humic acids. been tweaking the medium to try new things. I am soon thinking about switching to a soilless medium for my indoor plants, and so i can apply my mother plant nutrient which works great for taking cuttings. This medium has produced me some of the best outdoor buds this season! i will probably end up posting some flower pics here, or in another thread soon as i am midway through harversting the first round of small plants.
Heres the 4 TigerBerry and a cutting from a Chem Master cutting i was given as a gift.

The first part is about the Tiger Berry strain and strains i will possibly breed with and the second part is just info about the mediums

It is hard to read without paragraphs, but no worries, not everyone is an asshat like the dude above. Some just feel the need to be a dick.

That said, it will be interesting to see what comes of these supposed chinese seeds!

Good luck with your grow and this is a cool place if you can shake off the muppets that show up every now and again.

Peace

Thanks Lester! I will updated once these Tiger Berrys and Bubbas begin to surface.

For anyone else i understand its hard to read but i don't need further enlightenment of your issues with my paragraph, i can't rewrite it lol Funny it takes probably the same amount of time to go on google to find a meme and post it as it would to just read the post. but i get ur guys point lol

I planted the 4 Tigerberry Seeds with no germ on the 28th, and now the first two are visible above the surface. Just helped the shell off the one thats raging a bit more. I knew these seeds looked high quality so i did not bother germing them.

I germinated the Bubbas in water then paper towel for about 2 days and all three looked good to go. I planted those three yesterday so should see some activity with those shortly.

The Chem Master joins them in their journey and is looking good as well. Going to give her the first watering since she hit the soil possibly tomorrow.

I have been running only a 14 watt blue/white led panel in this microgrow box with amazing results! I will post the Chem Master moms journey under the leds soon! I know alot of people will not believe a grow could work well with such low wattage but it can! :)

Tiger Berry #1 was the first to surface before all others. I don't remember which order the others are, so right now the order will be as follows.

Tigerberry#1

A little small i know, but they are under leds for clones. 14 watts.

I have vegged a few plants under them before and my chemmaster i threw outside looks like ill pull a decent amount off of. Basically no extra costs on the electrical bill.

I would be happy to post about the other plants I've vegged under these types of panels in another thread.

The transplant yesterday went well. The plants are just a few days away from being 1 month old. Still under only a 14 watt panel, and not too shaby for such low wattage.

Sorry this thread kind of fell apart. Im going to continue updating however.

I haven't updated because i got some bad advice from a friend. He told me i had to water cuz the soil was pulling away from the edges of the Smartpot. I checked and though i would normally wait at least another day before watering but he convinced me otherwise. Next morning and for the continuation of the week the plants seemed overwatered and developed Phosphorous deficiency! The growth slowed down as they struggle to uptake the excess amounts of water and the leaves turn brown on the end, shrivel off and die!
I should have known and will know for next time. I never overwater my plants, They have only been overwatered in the past, which had more to do with the actual mediums retention before, as watering was unfrequent, and not needed too often.

Anyway i put the Tiger Berrys under 4 t5s, 96 watts at 6500k at the time. They are still under them but little progress has been made because of that recent overwatering.

Anyway i watered once more yesterday since the incident. This time i applied my Extreme Tea with azos from Extreme Gardening. I have had it bubbling for several days in a 3 gallon bucket. The plants love it, and i think this might be what they need to revert back to a healthier state again. The Extreme tea came with a activator packet as well to feed the brew.

Question: Is molasses every needed if i have already added a food source to the brew? and also How long can you brew a tea? My tea now has been brewing for 5 days. I started using it 2 or 3 days ago. There is currently a very faint smell, not rly stinky at all. From my knowledge if it is still aerated and no smell its still good? I just want to keep it too long. The pumps are still on so the tea won't become stagnant or something. Any knowledge helps!

I am about to post some pics today. I moved them back under the 14 watter panel temporarily while my buddys Blue Dream he picked up sprawls out under the t5s. I will move them back directly under the t5s when he picks her up so i should be seeing alot more growth shortly.

i m not sure you can overwater with smart pots , maybe it was something else. In general in veg its good to let the medium dry out to make the roots strech.

hey nonstop, it was definitely overwatering. Before i put the ducting and had only the 14 watters it was not enough heat, and the soil would stay damp for a long time. In the past few days though everything is looking recovered! I had actually met a guy once who said he lost his plant to overwatering in a Smartpot.

As far as the root searching you are talking about i believe that it helps as well. That way the roots can be spread more thoroughly. Thus why i wait as long as possible usually, just before the plants droop when they aren't praying just as hard as usual is my favorite time to water, the ladies usually go nuts after!

Thanks for the website info! and you may be right! lol atleast now i get to tell him what happened, haha because he's usually such a proud guy, he somewhat thinks his methods are the best.

personally i don't believe in growing as such with his advice, but finally decided to give his advice a chance that time lol.

Something i like to keep in mind so i never adopt my friends supposedly "tried and true" reasoning of "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" kind of mentality towards growing is something that has been said by many great growers including Subcool, and i think MMPGrower as well.

It is something along the lines of
To be the very best you have to try different things, never exclude something just because it comes from a slightly different practice, but atleast make the consideration ,because sometimes the greatest things are found when you take that chance! Through this reasoning i built my own soil, i use multiple organic liquid nutrients as well microbe teas, and im always trying it a little bit differently. I have been growing for several years but in the past 1 or 2 i took it upon myself to take the grow up a notch. Since then i have seen large improvements in the quality of my herbs! I even got my friend to admit the formulas are working.

For a long time when i was still experimenting and building my soil, etc trying something new, my plants grew somewhat small, and my buddy thought i was off my rocker not going with a prepackaged mix or building what he knew works for him. He said it would not work, it wasn't working, he didn't believe in veganic cultivation. However with the proper amendments i reused the soil, amended it with all sorts of good stuff other than animal products, let that sit for almost a month, and i ended up with a pretty badass soil! Now its my second time to run a slightly improved version.

Another close friend of mine had his first grow recently of which i consulted him. He used the same methodology, and same base compost and just pulled around 3-4 ounces each off of 6 plants in 5 gallon airpots. Really high quality Sherbert, Blue Dream, Grape Ape, and Tahoe OG
We all told him to enter in the Emerald cup but he is too busy enjoying the irresistible medication! Maybe i can get a pic of his flower when i post the Tiger Berrys!
