1st grow in almost 2 years. Dug up my remaining seeds. Im 3 weeks into flower. The Chemdog pheno I had was awesome. Strongest shit I ever grew. But yes it threw some bannanas and a few seeds were in the buds but not many. I used to toss the seeds but I saved these. I popped 3 along with some super lemon haze and blue sat 2.2.
Anyway, I know offspring tend to carry traits so at 3 weeks in I see no nanners and already see the crystals building on the three chems. I really don't care if they throw a few nanners as long as that's it. I only grow for self so im not worried bout a few seeds.
I don't really call them a hermie if they throw a few in later flower like trainwreck. That be said ive never grown the seeds as I was always told to toss them but my economic situation changed and I havd no money for seeds. I hope to find that stank garlic pheno again. So my question is has anyone else grown out S1's like this? Could they herm much more severely than the parent? or bout the same? If I got a few chem x slh seeds I might pop them down the road? So again I know if you have a full out hermie you should cull immediately but should I expect these to just be similar to the parent? I know there is no guarantee.

i and others have grown out plants like this (several cultivars) and i've heard of people who have kept such strains for a while. worth keeping an eye on the progeny in case one freaks out and rages, but in the conditions you describe, it's almost an asset - you get a half dozen seeds just in case.

some people (with better funded grows) may hate on you and say you're betraying the community by keeping them.. tell them to hook you up with an alternative....

Grow them! What are you going to name your new, elite, clone only chem variety?
Good luck!

Thanks. Betraying the community hmm. Well like you said I'd love to try some of the new genetics. I spentaton of cash on seeds in the past and I'm sure I will again but not this time. Hell, many orders from the sb. For this grow I'm shocked how much dough I'm saving. Already had seeds and using mb only with 1000k hortilux and a platinum hortilux ballast i bought 3 years ago. Vegged them bout 6 or 7 weeks. Stretch is over now so I'm on the way. But I just ran outta smoke and I'm not paying for more so I got bout a monrh then some sampling will be required. But I figure ill take the chems to bout 70 days and the slh to maybe 80 or so. Only one bs and well see bout that. Never grew it but still have more from when they were freebies at sb

I've kept a couple rare strains going like that. Ones that throw out a couple nanners as they finish. Most of the offspring will be just like the parents. Not something you want in a mega commercial grow but great for personal especially if you value the strain and can't keep cuts. I used to buy quarter pounds of a strain like that. Every time I'd get seven or eight seeds. Kept the strain around for ten years after my clones succumbed to age and mites.
