I forgot to put this in, BUT Gorilla will custom make a tent to your specs for size, want a divider wall so can veg in part and flower in the other part of it, want an odd size what ever you want Gorilla will make it for you.

WOW that is kinda cool

Stuff like that is good to know......gotta find it on the cheap though!
They all seem to be around the same price, no matter where you look.
Are they that good that no one has a steal on one anywhere.
Any help?:tiphat:
Found fair deals......but lookin' for the blue light special!

Ok, I found the Blue Light special.

Gorilla wants $403 Direct.

So I went on Ebay and they were around $385 so I thought cool I can save a few bucks.

But I noticed this strange watermark blocking the picture.
It was from a company I buy my hormones and raw salts from.
So I figure they are local, and I have dealt with them on several occasions and I gave them a call.

The nice woman answered and we talked about the tent for a minute then I asked her if I could submit a best offer over the phone instead of going back to ebay.
She said I did not have to submit an offer!

I am not sure if she remembers me, but she told me that the tent was $340 FREE SHIPPED!:woohoo:
So I am thinkin' YEA! form $403 direct to $340.:woohoo:
Then I asked her if it was available for pick up today?
She paused for a moment and said, You want to pick it up?
And she sounded kinda down...so I immediately thought DAMN this is a no go!......F**K
But I said...I was hoping to, But I guess it doesn't have to be today.
I think she sensed the dismay in my voice, cause she really became apologetic and said she misunderstood me, she said she was confused cause they are selling a ton of the tents and assumed I needed it shipped.
So I went back to:woohoo: maybe I can get this thing today after all!
Then she tells me I can pick it up today, but she was closing the store soon as it was kinda late.
So me being as impatient as I am braved rush hour traffic to get my tent today...UGH!......Yall know that feeling you gotta have it now!
So any way I get there and I think she stayed late, I am not sure they do not list their hours.

Sorry for the RANT but ya gotta hear the punch line!

So I go to pay her, she says $299...
I say ..No I wanted the 4x4, I may have seemed a bit angry, I had a bad migraine today and may have been just a bit touchy, especial after dealing with rush hour!
So I apologize to her if she reads this stuff.

Anyway I walked out of there with a 4x4 for $300 out the door.:dance013:
Apparently that is their pick up price.....funny right under my nose.
But they do not have a display at the store, so that's my story and I am stickin' to it!

Again sorry for the RANT but life is just strange!

Yea! I think you may be right.
I spent a few bucks and got the top of the line quality and it shows.
I set it up last night and I am very happy with it.
Very simple set up!

I am more of a hand built room guy....but I am in the middle of a much needed renovation and had to have somewhere for a few plants while I gut my room.

Bottom line is I do not think I would have been happy with a tent of lesser quality.
I did not think I would be totally happy with this one...But I like it a lot!
I really did not want to deal with light leaks, falling lights ect.
So YES I am very happy with this tent.
Very thick and strong, best of all no light leaks.:dance013:

Again BIG thanks to all those that help in the decision making process!:tiphat:

I will try to post a pic of the new tent in action when I have the time.

Thanks again

Congrats shaggyballs on the great deal! How is that 4x4 tent fitting in your 3x8 space? I assume you must have made some modifications to the room.

I'm a little late posting to the discussion but I have some advice for others shopping for tents. Don't ever trust a tent to be 100% lightproof. It may look good when you first set it up but eventually you'll start noticing light poking through the seams and the flaps starting to not set down flat and letting more light through. If you use the duct holes that is another good source of light leaks - either through the ducting itself or the seams around the holes.

I say this all from the perspective of trying to make sure dark time stays dark during flowering so that sensitive strains don't start popping bananas. I still like to use tents for a variety of reasons but now I focus on lightproofing the room they are in rather than worrying about the tent itself. If that isn't possible then I like to cover up the tents with panda film so that all of the seams are covered up - this is a pain in the ass though.

With all that said I did recently buy a Gorilla to see if it was worth the big price. It is thicker canvas and has better quality parts. But sure enough the first time I kicked on the light inside the tent I saw a tiny little pinpoint of light sneaking through a seam. With more use it will develop the same leaks that every other tent I've owned has. So yes it is a good quality tent. But don't spend the extra money thinking that the extra cost makes it lightproof. You are paying for better quality, expandability, and the IR shield on the top of it. Otherwise it is basically the same as every other grow tent.

I've used Grow Labs, Secret Jardins, and now Gorilla and none of them are perfect but they can all get the job done as long as you take extra precautions during flowering.

Like I said a few posts back, you could probably make a better tent yourself, out of thick black plastic, and some black duct tape.

my advise would have been to buy a size that a flood table or two fit well in.
I'm much happier running tables propped off the floor enough to use drains in them.
I always spilled and had floor destruction and mold under the tent when I had pots on the floor. my 2 cents.
the pinhole zipper light leaks never cause issues with me and herming.

also this work well with me to get 2 tents cooled and scrubbed for less $.
I can use a flimsier tent when it doesn't have to support the weight of filter and fan and have more room for plants and less ducting mess.
I use an 8" slowed down with a variac to cool a 4x4 and a 5x5.
the bigger fans run quieter as well.

hope you like your new veg tent. happy growing!

ive only used Secret Jardin. Been a few years ive had these now. Few of the seams are falling apart on the ports but the zippers are all still working good. Good luck. LL

I had the opportunity to see sun huts, secret jardin, gorilla and another I can't remember today while picking up equipment.

Hands down, the best was the gorilla. It wasn't even close. Side by side looking at them set up, I was impressed. If I didn't have a permanent dedicated space there is zero doubt I'd have a gorilla. Period.

Ya, I know it don't fit!...LOL
I had to make a bunch of changes to my hand built room.
So I got a 4x4 instead cause I have to use it as a veg/flower room!
It is temporary, but may be up for a long while, as I am very slow at remodeling due to daily migraines.

And Ya! I had to move it to a completely different section of the house.:woohoo:
I still want a clone/ teen chamber, due to the fact I still have light shining here and there!
But this was a necessity so it was given priority.

Thanks for posting!

As someone who works in the industry this post really struck me. No other market is so "bro deal." Everyone I talk to wants to be my best friend for that extra 5%, or 10%, or 50%. Whatever their wild expectations are. It's sad because good businesses cannot support themselves with the bad businesses that keep popping up and selling their wares for under wholesale, brining down the entire system.

These business owners invest in warehouses and product and computer systems and product training, they absorb the fraud and usually get stuck with the returns... Often times they are mom and pop shops trying fill a need in their community and put some food on their plates. These people are who support your growing habits and you'll be damned if you pay anything over cost. They buy from mega-corps who pretty much own them (sunlight and hydrofarm) and you'd be wrong to think they get the kind of "bro deal" you expect. It really irks me and I just had to say something.

Just so you know... a 4x4 Gorilla tent cost them more than it cost you. It cost them money to pay that employee late to help you with your last minute necessity (I can't be expected to plan ahead, you have to plan ahead for me and maybe I'll buy it from you, if you suck my dick hard enough, WTF?). To keep the lights on. To rent the space...

What they decided to charge you is their business, I can respect that. It would be pretty cool of you to pay the prices they are asking in the future so that you're not a burden on their business. Cash is appreciated.

They bought about 10% of that tent for you. Rep them a little and maybe that investment in you will pay off.

Back to say:

If I knew I was going to have to renovate I would have purchased the 5x5 instead!

But the Gorilla is a sturdy tent, and I am happy.
I do no think I would be happy with a lesser model, as I am a bull in a china shop!
Go Gorilla or go home...LOL
