Dank weed smells like hay now that its dried?

My sour bubble has been dried with extra stem on them. I havent trimmed much of anything besides fans. my caliber 3s are approaching 60% and still no smell.

Now i was expecting some loud bud but it smells like hay? Is this normal and the dank will come out in the next week or 2?

You should have some dank smell now....but once you have started to cure. ..the smell should be more pungent. ..I normally dry with fan leaves on just hang it and let my leaves (fan) do most of the work. ..

sounds like it dried to quick . the chlorophil taste will go away after a week or so in the jars at 60% humidity .

Seal them up in jars, keep an eye on them. A good cure does wonders. I used to get fresh greenhouse bud, smelled like hay. First thing Id do is jar it all up, Gets better with time.

Dry cure is an art... try not to jar too wet.... too dry is hard to do in my climate.... too wet leads to bad smell.... bad burn.... overall bad quality vs when things r done properly the quality is much different cant stress enough.... the difference is big.....

I'm imagining this big leafed and partly deboned with extra stem in the jars. Take out a few pieces trim them up, remove extra stem, set them on your coffee table and come back in 20 minutes and give that thing a squeeze , should smell great, if the smell isn't there than, yhave a problem. When I store untrained nigs I get a different smell out of the bag. On a good kush it's a chlorophily but mostly like kind of buttery, when they are trimmed and stored it really has a different smell.

How long did it take you to get your buds down to that jar humidity? A few days too wet and it changes smell imo....

took 2 1/2 days for smalker ones. bigger ones are just about there.

i dried them in a small room on top of window screens at 85°…

left stems/leaves intact for the most part also. this happened with my last grow too. the weed just had a musky like smell but cured into a better smmell.

Way to hot, by a ton. Try 65 degrees and 55-60% rh

Ya it seems they dried to quick so there is still some chlorophyll in the buds that's what your smelling.

Ive found that the smell of the room also kind of sets into the bud. so clean air is best.

My tip is take em from your screens when they r hard on the outside and still damp inside.... stems should snap. Paper bag them brown and put in an empty fridge. If you got one. Thats what I do. Takes a overnight to a couple days from there to be dry enough for a jar. My current process and I get amazingly fresh smelling and tasting flowers.... white ash.

to me drying buds smell the least, the hay smell is the chlorophyll from the green leaves, once the stems crack the smell will start to develop. were they stinky when you harvested them? if yes the smell will most likely come back. as long as you didnt use any heat to dry them, always ambient room temp for drying is best.
