I would think so! but how could you fart while being exposed to space? It would need to exhaust out your space suit to propel you.
A billion Mexican jumping beans might disagree.
Ok. if you were to fart in space, provided you could breath outside containment, for the second or so that your anus is opened expelling the fart, the real question becomes,,,would the vacuum of space use that second or so to pull your guts out your ass?
Ah yes, this query raises that age old conundrum, if you fart in space, could anybody hear it to laugh? Does not nature abhor a vacuum and will then seek to equalize it? And further, once expelled, will the bwat sound of said flatulence go anywhere? We know sound does not travel in space. But we are talking about the theoretical farter, being a physical sentient being that in order to be in open space, would have to be in a spacesuit, an enclosed protective layer from open space, so therefore he himself would be able to not only hear, but smell his nasty anal expulsion. And further still, getting back to the original question posited by the op, that same space suit would also act to contain any forces emitted by our subject's anus. Yet without that protection of our farting subject, he have to have his ass exposed in order to adequately consider this question, so our farting subject would not only have a very, very cold ass, but his fart could not be heard, the offensive smell could not be detected, or laughed at, but our gaseous subject would be forever sent on an uncontrolled, unstoppable journey though space for ever and ever. So my advice? Take some Gas-ex if you are going into space. Don't fart in space or you may find yourself forever drifting through space. And no-one would have laughed either because they could neither hear it nor smell it, so what's the point? I think that's what might happen maybe anyway. Actually, exposing your ass to open space would kill your ass, but I had to make assumptions and conclusions in order to adequately consider your oh so important question.

What if the gas was collected in a space suit and pressurized? Eco-friendly thruster?

that's actually a relevant thought.......
also considering you would be flatulating in a vacuum, I would also imagine that it would be expelled from your body with a good bit of force behind it.

I have a hunch that guys think more about farting in space than women do.
And here I was thinking that the whole question of farting in space WAS a joke. In all seriousness, I think we all should be more serious here.
but it is quite possibly the most intimate ultimate hot box scenario known to man, aka the Atomic Tron.......
on the ISS I would think if you were just floating inside somewhere and let a huge one rip it seems like it would have to propel you a little, even a few inches?

If you farted in space, say during a space walk, it would just inflate your astronaut suit a little bit more..
However, if there were a fart expulsion valve on the butt of your suit, when you opened the valve, if you were not tethered to your space craft,
Yes, you would be propelled forward thru space in the direction you were facing...
You would be moving slowing, but you would keep going into the outer reaches of our galaxy until and unless you ran into something to stop your forward momentum...
