Let's make a list of all the problems out there

As a grower every time you think you've had every problem out there another one pops up. So in this thread I want everyone to list the bugs, diseases, and anything else that has plauged your garden. Even if you havent actually had a certain problem but you know it affects marijuana, list it anyways..

Here are the problems I can think of off the top of my head.

spider mites
thrips
white flies
root aphids
aphids
bulb mites
broad mites
cyclamen mites
russet mites
powdery mildew
fusarium wilt
verticulum wilt
mosaic virus (I've talked with Sc labs and yes it has been been found in marijuana, so please don't turn this into an argument about it.)

now lets build onto the list!!

Incompetent? Thats rough.....to me, the most competent growers have had all these issues and corrected and learned how to prevent them. Just getting them doesnt make you "incompetent" as much as a novice. Theres a learning curve man. Not to mention nearly every organic soil has pests(fungus gnats, aphids, white flies, mites etc.) in them. So the minute you get new soil you have a minor infestation ready to grow. Simply having an issue doesnt make you incompetent. Were working with plant material ffs. What about organic growers who dont use systemic or phytolinear pesticides or fungicides? Ever tried to cure pm with organic fungicides? Its very difficult, to cure, not remedy. Just saying, incompetent may be a harsh, incorrect term to use.

The nematodes are called "stem nematodes" i guess and they cause duds.

I agree incompetent and/or not realizing exactly what the situation is ..
basically you have bugs or mold, or have done something like overfed to get that nute burn, most growers can display some reasonable bud in under 3 months, in either their first or 2nd attempt at growing ...these days very few noobies even bother to study the subject allowing the masses on their canna site to advise, which offers varying degrees of input!
...shame on them

most problems are due to incompetent grower

no, actually most problems are from trying to acquire elite genetics in California... An incompetent grower would get shut down by any of the major problems like broad mites, bulb mites, or certain microscopic tissue dwelling fungi. In my opinion if you can't beat every problem under the sun that can affect cannabis then you are an unprepared grower. Even a master grower can get a clone with broad mites and have his grow be destroyed in front of his eyes because the bastards are resistant to almost every chemical out there and they weren't keeping up with the times.

this isn't a thread about competent or incompetent growers though. This is a thread to list ALL potential problems so that the growers that care can look up everything and familiarize themselves with everything BEFORE they get it, there by making them more competent. If you want to walk around with a big head and say that you will never have problems because you are a "competent grower" then be my guest and ignore the fact that new problems are popping up and the old ones are getting more resistant. Just never take in new genetics or leave your house ;)

I've never heard of them so thank you for adding that to the list. I will have to look them up and familiarize myself with them. It saddens me hearing that there are other bugs besides the usual tarsonomid mites that will make duds...

But.... but there are youtube videos to show me how to grow in 30 minutes; why would I spend hours reading.

Sadly this is the mindset of the average 20 something year old nowadays.

2 week quaranteen prevents this....incompetent growers don't do this and then have issues....I have gotten lots of clones and no issues...I had separate quaranteen area not even in same area ...out in garage was quaranteen area...and if you cant find and identify any bugs in 2 weeks then u just might be incompetent...lol

Chemical resistant adaptations in organisms

Fracking (methane contaminated) water .

The water kills faster

ok, but this isn't a thread about quarantine... I'm sure we all know how to quarantine a plant, but what if you find something? If you find a bug wouldn't you like to know what it is? If you aren't familiar with every bug and how to kill them then what good will a quarantine do? If you've never heard of broad mites, for example, you could throw a microscope on your new clones in quarantine and never see a live bug and you'd probably mistake the eggs as capitate sissile trichomes. This means your quarantine was useless...

This thread is to list all the potential bugs, molds, fungi (which you will rarely identify in quarantine), and everything else that could pop up on cannabis. This way the people that care can research every problem BEFORE they get them. We all hope to never get problems but if you do get them it helps to know what you are looking at and what to be looking for. The faster you can identify a threat, the faster you can neutralize it.

Now that we went off topic for you, lets get back to the real topic. If you don't have a useful post that contains a cannabis threat that hasn't been mentioned then please dont post. Anything else is just trolling to be a dick, and all that does is stop the potential learning....
