Closet Smokers video journal

hey, just spent the last 45min watching your youtube videos. you have a tight ass set up man. Im ALMOST there too but instead of buying a 1000 dollar controller Im controlling everything separately. wish I could afford something like what you have. I spent 350 on my co2 controller. im going to be running a 1000w sealed room. only thing I need is a dehumidifier and water chiller. but its about to be winter so I might be able to get away without.

So how do you run your carbon scrubber?

and the intake filter on the bottom of the door is for when your carbon scrubber turns on? and since your running co2 im assuming you only run your carbon scrubber at night, which means your only cleaning the smell at night?

And oh yeah, we all want to see the plant you had in flower. did it make it? its driving me crazy. lol I keep thinking youd show it. but you didn't.

it is being used as a "dehumidifier". It turns on, cuts the CO@, when RH goes above 60%. I may change that value to 65% Lights out the set point is lower, 40%, almost ensuring continuous operation during night. The flowering plant was chopped, I really did not to start my channel out with that plant, no video was taken. Sorry about that.

Got a new vid up, the veg tent was looking sparse!

I read that your never supposed to mix ph down and ph up in the same reservoir but I have no experience my self.

I will be watching your videos man.

so are you going to do the RDWC you mentioned? im going to build a 40gallon RDWC for my stuff. im going to start out with a 10gallon eb and flow first as to not waste any nutrients and make things easier. then when my plant grow big enough, they will get there spot in the RDWC.

and your controlling the on/ off for the carbon scrubber with you new iponic im assuming? So how has that thing been working? user friendly?

I was wondering about the co2 setting for the iponic. is it a co2controller AND monitor? can you see a exact value for your co2 or just within a certain range?

I am controlling everything with the Iponic, lights, ac, all fans, and co2. It is a CO2 controller with fuzzy logic, a light controller with a light measuring device on the sensor. It cuts CO2 when lights are out, and when recirculation is turned on, in my case, to keep RH in check. So far it is working great, beyond programming mistakes like not getting am and pm right and having everything 12 hours off. You can see all values for temp, RH, CO2 levels right on the screen, or I can whip the smart phone out and see how it is doing anywhere I have a data or Wi-Fi connection.

It has been a few days since the flush. Definite improvement, but I am thinking one issue is that they are root bound. I don't have larger pots or any more NCB to keep true to the comparison. The plants are stalled and they are not actively using CO2 in the room. I have my bottle shut off, and CO2 concentrations are still in the mid 500 to low 600 ppm. keep in mind this is a small 800sqft home with two humans, 3 cats, and two dogs residing in it. This will raise CO2 above ambient. At this time they are on a short leash, if I get a couple plants ready for flower and they are still having problems, chop chop. I have bought GH Rapid Rooter plugs and tray, and I set a couple C99 seeds in yesterday after cracking them on a wet paper towel. These will go into DWC for a quick and dirty grow, I am running out of meds. Four week veg, one topping for a clone, then flower time. Will do a video update later.

New vid on the way, I followed through with the plan.....

Dumb question:

If I just want to use straight RO water, how do I get a accurate PH reading? My Blue Lab pen has a hard time with the PH of RO, my water tests at 0.0ppm, and the PH is all over the map.The number never stops changing, ranging from acidic to alkaline and back, never seems to settle down.

C99 Update!

C99 Update!

My two DWC girls are doing fantastic! The one I transplanted from soil is still growing fast with change seen daily. I have the bucket temps down in the low to high sixties with ice bottles that I change 3-4x daily. The transplanted plant has 250ppm of flora series nutes with silica and cal mag. I gave the seedling a taste with 150ppm, mostly cal mag, only 1ml of the nutes. I will be so glad when the seals get here so I can get the Hobo Chiller going again, it does work, but weak. I will be adding lots of insulation to the buckets and lines to increase efficiency.
