Motherlode Gardens 2014

A few years ago three armed men broke in to a grow in oakland. In the resulting gun fight, The grower shot and killed one man before the two others escaped. When it was all said and done, the two robbers were charged with murder and the grower was not.

Just goes to show you it all depends on the cops your dealing with and the county your'e in.

out here the cops are 2nd amendment friendly. probably makes their job a lot easier.

what bothers me is people who have paranoid fantasies of what they would do in a certain situation. Some people watch too many movies, they think life is like that.

For the record, only use your weapon when your life is in danger. Bring your gun if people are in your patch, however don't use it unless those people threaten your life. Be responsible, but not having the gun in the first place could result in your families death. That is real life, no movies.

guns and mmj dont mix. If you ever get busted, your fucked if you have a gun, even if its 'legal'.
Based on many many situations I've heard and read of, this does not appear to be true at least in CA. There are exceptions of course...
You'd attempt to murder a human being for stealing/ attempt to steal cannabis?

No, I'd succeed. If you come on my property with guns and I find out, someone will die.

Been in similar situations a couple of times, I know it's very real. Life isn't always fair, and neither is justice sometimes. Goes both ways. But I'm not going to be disrespected like that. Nowadays the only warning shot you might hear is your skull being cracked open by a .223, .308, or 9mm diameter projectile.

This is NOT a game, you rippers HAVE been warned.

I guess no one read where i said "if you get busted"...that means if you get a charge on you for cannabis, which more than likely would be 'possession with intent to distribute', having a fire arm really fucks up your situation.

Im not surprised by most of the replies here, and I agree with some. Being anti gun is not a popular view, but im not ashamed one bit for standing on that ground, however hard you try lol.

Bulldog relax bro, did i say I wouldnt protect my family? Shit if someone kicks my dog (rip) theyd be on the ground before they knew it.

Im not gonna get into an argument about guns here; wouldnt want to ruin schrews thread, and you must realize that topic is far from black and white

i don't believe in the rule of law. i think everyone should be able and know how to defend themselves and their property, by force or any other means. They also have the right to choose not to.

IF somebody is not able to defend themselves then they should surround themselves with people who can. or not. i don't care.

people divide and argue and fight against each other when the real enemy is the structure which allows such a huge gap in wealth and education that still exists, which is the main reason why there are so many thieves in the first place.

...
our society has caused us to devolve and become soft and needy, rather than accepting what fate deals out

I would argue our current social scheme has created large disregard for human life.

You know those homeless folks you see sometimes who are asking for money by the on ramps, off ramps ect? Im curious how many of you pro gun folks stop and give those folks some help?

Chilling has commenced.

Screws - your last post was right on the money.

TJO - I being one of those you speak of, donate money to people all the time. I am very generous with my money. At my last house I lived next to a 7-11 where people would bum all the time. I would gladly give them money, on a weekly basis. Many times people say thank you, or not, but it's the ones that truly thank you that you will never forget.

I remember once a pretty hurt looking dude was sitting outside catching some zzz's. It was 6am at the time, and I was sitting really flush with cash. I walked over and gave dude two twenties. He didn't really say anything, but the next day he was waiting for me. He was so thankful, tears came to his eyes and told me the money I gave him he spent taking a bus to see his family. It was his birthday, and it was his last. Found out months later he had passed.

TJO I ask you.....which political party is against guns right now? Also, which party just banned giving homeless people food or money in New York and SF? I know this isn't about politics, but if we are grouping people together I think your logic is flawed. I think you would find gun owners are very charitable.

I've been robbed (w/ knife) and robbed/kidnapped (w/ multiple guns), and both times I thought I was better off being unarmed in those situations, since I wasn't at home. For the most part I'm glad I was not; in the first knife situation, the other guy most likely would have had to die over chump change. In the other case, it most likely would have been me, if I was armed. No way I would be carrying and not attempting to use it. Unfortunately I would have been at a severely disadvantaged/dominated position, I most likely would have been the one dead that night.

This is a little different, defending home turf, although not by a whole lot.

you are definitely right. there are plenty of resources for everyone but they are being hoarded.

TV and movies desensitize us to violence while at the same time conditioning us to accept and fear authority. This creates a dangerous society where regular people would rather rob, kill, and hate each other than challenge the tyranny of police/military.

how many homeless people could be fed and housed with the military's war budget, DEA budget, or Homeland Security, NSA, or shit even some local police dept's? the military/prison/justice industry has consumed and destroyed america, if not the entire world. give everyone a gun they deserve it

Every fucking time I can. You know those homeless folks? Yes, I've been one. Handed a bag full of instant oatmeal and a handful of flowers to a guy just last week, gave him a blanket also. When I've been able to help I have, even when I've struggled myself for the past few years.

I used to give, because I was a yuppy with too much money and emptying my pockets of useless change was easier and seemed more acceptable than saying no.

Then I guess I was "toughened up by the big city" and realized 99% of those funds get spent on crack/heroin/booze while they generally have "free" sources of food available from community programs. I know there are exceptions, Drue Bleam, but nowadays I put my change in the CoinStar machines and use it to buy 9mm and .223 rounds to shoot rippers with.

the amount of money that people are forced to give, in taxes, fines, etc.., to a government which they do not support, which spends most of that money on bullshit.

could probably help a lot of homeless people.

instead we get a police-state which can't even prevent rippers so people have to arm themselves as a deterrent, even though they already pay taxes which is supposed to be used to protect civilians. And there are still homeless everywhere

america: On average, cops get paid 2x more than teachers .

Well if you don't mind paying like 80% taxes I'm sure they could provide enough police to cover every garden. But in general I believe in taxes and I'm glad other people pay them on my behalf.

1. If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally, you live in a country run by idiots.

2. If you have to get your parents’ permission to go on a field trip or take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion, you live in a country run by idiots.

3. If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor or check out a library book, but not to vote on who runs the government, you live in a country run by idiots.

4. If the government wants to ban stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines with more than ten rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy leaders in Egypt, you live in a country run by idiots.

5. If, in the largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not a 24-ounce soda because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat, you live in a country run by idiots.

6. If an 80-year-old woman can be stripped searched by the TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched, you live in a country run by idiots.

7. If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more, you live in a country run by idiots.

8. If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of grade school for saying his teacher’s “cute,” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable, you live in a country run by idiots.

9. If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized housing and free cell phones, you live in a country run by idiots.

10. If the government’s plan for getting people back to work is to incentivize NOT working, with 99 weeks of unemployment checks and no requirement to prove they applied but can’t find work, you live in a country run by idiots.

11. If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you more “safe” according to the government, you live in a country run by idiots.

see the problem is you don't get to choose how your tax money is spent. that is for the elected politicians to do, and they would rather build prisons than schools.

1) No country is perfect, everything takes time, especially such a large system that has to cover... everything. Shift this, another totally unexpected change elsewhere; change that, another shift elsewhere, etc, etc.
2) See #1 and stop complaining because you're lucky as fuck to live in the US

our fucked society: On average, cops get paid 2x more than teachers .

The cops have a more demanding job, IMO. You're comparing apples to oranges, or more precisely, cops to teachers.

I'm sure the top ranked professors aren't complaining about making less than cops.
