Vertical Limit

I understood your original post. They did it week 6 and ruined the run. Heh never again. I handle my own now endlessly. Others can trim it if they want at the end but.

It's about 18 inches from bulb to plant i would say. This may be the last octagon run. I got a new plan I may give a run. I really need to dial this in I bet. It's just a lot of management and I could yield more if I had better strains or knew the strains more. I might run another round after this but I am not sure.

It has to be further to the screen if ur racks are 2', and u have 8 then ur about 30" plus from bulb to screen, Check that out, it seems to be a bit far, could be losing yield by being to far away.

If u wanna max out yield u might need to get a little closer. Ichabod Crane uses 2' screens but only 6 of them instead of eight. This puts him 24-27" from back of screen and he does well with that distance. that little bit can make a difference. Then u gotta find that sweet spot where they just barely bleach out due to being to close then tie them back a couple inches from the bleach spot. then u got your perfect canopy for crushing those gpw's.

Went thru the thread and first off I`m glad you`re ok even though the truck aint....

Shit can be fixed , you can`t....now....Your pm about the 4 plant 5 light setup in a 10x10 area is strain specific and 50/50 Sat/Ind hybrids dialed accordingly after several runs are what`s needed to produce 4 big 2-1/2/3 lb plants consistently.....

Most polyhybrids of today are more indica dominant and grow sideways more than up as a rule with bare bulbs , but once found , the right plant will amaze you with Xmas tree style growth un-topped and fills out 5'x5' sideways , and 6+ from base of stem....and....

Never was a more perfect grow area built where each plant receives light from 3 bulbs at all times , and once dialed with the proper strain monocropped , perpetual flip rooms pump out the dank like a mofo with rooms planted "X" amounts of time behind each other so more crops per yr can be produced FTW....

No tying back to the walls , but rather plant yo-yo`s on tethered strings all over the ceilings , or chickenwire stapled up to tie off to from any and all angles to prevent limbs from snapping...anyways....

Figure out whatchas wanna work with and we`ll get it done...Many ways ta skin a mule....Donuts to stacked walls.....Bare bulbs rule and all else drool....

Peace....DHF....:ying:.....

Thanks for the response. Much appreciated. For these trees would 45g smart pots be big enough? Do you veg in a separate room horizontally to get them started. I have a good amount of hybrids that are taller than wider. As it stands the octagons are a lot of work and I been reading your praises on the xo trees for ages. I would have to rebuild so I can move plants around but building is always fun. I know I could do better. My dirt has been less than ideal so that is probably the issue more than the octagon. Environment is huge you always talk about it. I just don't want to get stuck doing these octagons. I can revisit them later but the trees seem ideal to me.

Edit: thanks for the good vibes on the truck. It was a real beauty PRE crash but. I am still here so I always gotta be grateful. Keep on truckin.

Bro....I grew 2-1/2 lb plants in stacked 5 gal buckets for a decade , but it was full blown recirculating fast hydro with all limbs tied up with a spiderweb of support by end of cycle.....that said....

45 gal smartpots with dirt should be aight as long as yas can keep that "internal battery" charged if goin total organic with proper teas and foliar sprays , but that ain`t my dept....

Strictly synthetic nutes for the duration of my growin career, but I`m sure there`s folks around here to help with feed regimens to support a bigger indoor plant with a water only type setup for the most part...

Increased plant number setups dictate yield with lil to no veg time and more crops per yr , but it takes a clone factory to run it and not many folks are up on their rooted cut game enough to step up and pull off the gpw`s consistently , so........

That`s where increased vegtimes and perpetual setups planted X amount of time behind each other pay off with increased crops per yr as well but with lower plant numbers.........anyways....

Think about it and we`ll work shit out....

Peace....DHF....:ying:....

Hungry hungry hippos. This run is all screwy but my dirt was from the start. I've been broke and didn't have the resources to mix up proper stuff. Oh well. Switching to a 7 tree 8k watt grow next run. Mind made up. Getting supplemental 600 gavita for top lighting. 45 gal pots I think. Maybe 65 but I have 45s so I might use them. This is the plan at least. Life keeps sucker punching me so I need to bust ass and get past this hurdle. Hopefully things work out. Much love all, happy days.

look what I lived through

look what I lived through

Just totaled my truck an hour ago. Blew the master cylinder we turning around on a hill. Truck did about 30 mph over a cliff right as I jumped out of it. Barreled down the valley a few hundred yards. I loved that damn truck. Will update grow later. Shaken up still.

Wait this just happened. Didn't u get in a bad car accident earlier in the thread?

I am a cat apparently. Yes I have been in 2 totals this year. Kicking myself for not repairing the master cylinder months ago when I knew I needed too.
