What's new

super sativa seed club collection

Hello to All.
Please bear with me as the online work is a bit challenging for me.
I just want to let other serious long-time breeders like myself that I possess several examples of original SSSC seed stock.
I have successfully rejuvenated m-35, Nigerian/Kandahar, and just today have successfully germinated 5 original seeds of my original favorite from the collection, m-48, Haze/South African.
I personally grew this fine strain back in '88 and kept my remaining 12 seeds carefully through the years.
I also have another rare one, Afghani Kyber Creeper and Beatrice Choice.
Anyone else obsessed by this work like I am, (all strains SSSC, should feel free to contact me here.
I love sharing knowledge and materials with fellow serious growers and especially breeders!

Welcome to the boards Buddyboy.

If you could, it would be great if you could bring these old genetics back to the modern weed scene, it could seriously use an injection of something new (or old).

Thank you all for your good wishes and encouragement.
Three of the original, authentic South African/Haze seeds have sprouted & are now safely nestled in their first pots.
Two others are still "in the bag", and could easily pop.
At least I hope!
Since the first three popped within 48 hrs. of touching water, warmth & darkness, I have every reason to hope for 4 & 5...
After all, these unique seeds haven't been grown out since 1988!
Heck, I get contemporary, "fresh" seed that takes longer than these to sprout! So I feel humbled & extremely fortunate that these babies took off.
I remember the quality of this strain with great fondness. It was amazing, even by todays so-termed "superplant" standards. This was early original top-notch Sativa smoke. But also, surprisingly, an eight-nine week finisher and a bit chunkier than one would expect to see in a Sativa cross in those days.
The closest immediate comparison to a "modern" strain would be Willy Nelson.
The SSSC South African Haze used to knock out a whole crowd with one joint in those days, so as these plants grow and develop, I will keep a careful image and information log. I will share it here.
Thank you all for the positive thoughts and enthusiasm! It is most appreciated.
And yes, if luck holds, I will be re-breeding this strain purebred...

Hi.
I did attempt to germinate four seeds while running a large grow in Colorado during 2012.
They didn't pop.
Now being really settled back in the Midwest where I belong, I was ready & able to attempt another go at this wonderful strain.
I held my breath as all I had was hope!
Shows how patience and the right positive atmosphere lends a certain magic to the process!

Seeds sprouted and shedding coats!
How do I post progress shots onsite?
I can't seem to find a way to upload photos here from my device.
Any advice on navigation/process/which button would be appreciated.
I'm a digital idiot but have uploaded photos before. I can learn.
Thank you.

Hi. Thanks for such a good question.
I waited for years in order to really be set-up at a location and time to patiently & carefully work with specific genetics in my collection.
I have finally arrived at that point in life.
While working at a large grow/retail operation during 2012 in Colorado, I attempted to germinate 4 of my 12 precious seeds of the South African/Haze. None popped!
As things worked out, I left Colorado, returning to the Midwest and a calmer, more civilized scene.
I sincerely believe my next 4 seeds popped because I was relaxed, ready and focused. I have completely babied the sprouts/seedlings. I knew that it would take that sort of concentration, based on 35 years of ongoing growing & experimentation with the wonderous Plant...
Anyway, 3 of the 4 are healthy & growing now. I will post progress as I rebreed this original in its pure germplasm form. Hopefully I will get individuals of both genders to accomplice this work!
Thanks again!

I hope it works out for you BB, Im eager to see some of the strains you have listed in your first post. Its going to be cool to be able to take a rare look into the past to see how yesterdays strains compete with modern one's, grown with today's grow knowledge.

I'd also recommend you start another thread in another forum, because posts made in the introduce yourself forum dont count towards your post count, so it will take you forever to get full use of the boards since all of the perks of IC like pm's, post editing etc.. are based on post count.
