Conclusively, it is highly likely that any formulation of CaC2 which leads to slow
and gradual release of C2H2/ C2H4 might be useful in improving the nutrient use
efficiency as well as growth and yields of crops. The work on developing an appropriate
formulation for coating of CaC2 to achieve slow release of C2H2 as well as making it
farmer friendly is in progress.

Any thoughts???

Slow release ethylene is a bit tricky, especially in soil outdoors... not enough = zero effect, too much and your plants are irrecoverably screwed.
Using Ethephon, even if you have to dilute it a million times (insider joke ;) ), seems more practical for those with only a few plants. Better control of application and one can stop quickly whenever need be.

OO-7 to the rescue!!

I see your point, release is subjective, too many factors involved.
Damn right when I think I have a bright idea......reality sets in.

Thanks again bro!:tiphat:

The idea of a slow release formulation like those little coloured beads used as fertiliser is principally a good and feasible one. With highly active hormones in a difficult to control environment though... it might work with triacontanol where a bit too much won't kill your plants and likely not even show negative effects at all if not precisely dosed.
