led garden making the switch to coco/growstone mix

currently switching my garden over to a dtw coco setup. I have 2 cycles in my flower room each cycle is 9 plants taking up a 6'x6' area. I harvest monthly and each plant has 2'x2' square to do its thing. garden has co2 supplementation on a sentinel chhc-4, air conditioning, and a dehumidifier completely sealed with no in or out for air exchange.

im running all leds in my flower room with different soil mixes and having issues with them not drinking up the watering as fast as I would like (3 or 4 days between waterings). they finish off in 5 gallon root maker pots. would 5 gallon pots for a 5 month start to finish be too large for a coco/growstone 50/50 mix? while in soil I was going from gallon pots to 5 gallon pots with about a months worth of veg time in the 5 gallons and I had decent results. should I get some 3 gallon pots as an intermediate pot size?

Ill get some pics posted tomorrow of my setup to help with a visualization of what im workin with... hoping to get this coco thing all dialed in so I don't have to hand water anymore.

Be careful with that water cooled HydroGen. I've heard some total horror stories with them. Burned down a customers house about a year ago. But also, a few people who report incomplete combustion of the gas.

Did you get yourself a pair of Method Sevens? Helps sooo much when you're looking at leaf tissue to see it in the right color.

Those rolling drain trays are too fucking cool. Did you build them yourself?

I seen the method sevens at my local hydro store, pretty cool but the xml series has 10watt warm white cree leds and you can turn them on separate from the colored leds so I just turn the colored ones off to check out leaf tissues/issues... I've been really happy with the hydrogen and I believe they revised it because of the problems your referring too, buying co2 bottles gets really expensive... cost me 70 bucks to fill my large propane tank and it lasts 2 months and feeds both my veg and flower room (shared environment)

I did build the carts myself and just recently modified them with the sheet metal to make them work for dtw... cost me 150 bucks to have 9 2x2 20 gauge galvanized squares with a heavy "x" break made. had it done at a local hvac sheet metal shop.

just got some 3 gal rootmaker pots. i also got some new strains to run thru... the white, and some blueberry trainwreck. called the sheet metal place and had some smaller drain pans made for my small carts (will post pics when they're put together)

I run my plants for 5 months clone to finish (8 week strains), clones in root riot cubes for about 2 weeks, then keg cups for 2 or 3 weeks, then a bump to gallon pots for a month or so, then I will be going into the 3 gallons from there...

should I leave them in the 3 gallons till finish or should I bump them to the 5 gallons I have?

got the critical jack from a buddy down in Portland. not sure on the origins but its a very nice smoke, been running it for the last year or so to get my skills and my room dialed in. im really excited for the new strains im running... the white, Matanuska thunder fuck, 9 lb hammer, and the blueberry trainwreck.

seen all of them from a friends garden and all were impressive, but were both excited to see how they do under leds. he was impressed enough with my results on the critical jack to make a major led investment in his warehouse :)... he went with 20000 watts worth of forevergreenindoors.coms led panels.

ended up with 800g off 8 plants under 1320 watts of led... pretty happy with the yield considering it was 1 plant shy this round. next batch is 3 new strains and since I didn't get to do much training in veg im not expecting great yields, but I am excited to see how they all do :)
