RMJ Colo vacation itinerary

What advice, places, sites, etiquette should I be aware of when on a stoner vacation in Colorado, and good stoner activities?

Advice /etiquette- Treat it as if it is illegal. No blaz'n in the car or anywhere out in public. Keep it all out of sight. Make sure where you stay allows pot smoking/smoking in the rooms on their premises/etc. If you head to the Natl Forest/BLM land to hike/ski/etc be aware it's Federal land and none of these laws pertain there. I don't wanna be a downer but I also don't want to see good peeps end up making something far more casual than it truly is here and ending up with a second "vacation" this way to address some sort of criminal charges/trail at a later date.

I can't speak for Denver/FR, but as far as the mountain towns, (if they allow rec sales at all) other than the novelty of buying the weed itself, there is no real pot scene or any stoner related activities here beyond doing/seeing everything stoned and keepin it on the down low as you do.

happy trails.

Ski season is gonna be very interesting. A lot of folks will come here for fun but find something far different if they take this all too casually.

Either way, it's gonna be an expensive proposition.

The truth about the culture here in Colorado is that while it is illegal as mentioned above to smoke in public, on public land, etc... Truthfully know one cares if you are being respectful to others in regards to your use. If you are in Breckenridge, don't walk down the middle of main street at 2:30 in the afternoon blazing a doob. On the other hand, if you are out for the late night hours where there are just adults, it is not rare to find a circle of people smoking a joint outside a bar. Never smoke around children! I tell everyone that I know when they ask me this same question...Police officers do not go out of there way to catch people using marijuana, for the most part they respect the will of the voters and leave polite, non threatening users alone. Just smoke discreetly and you will have a great vacation :) I do find that most my friends coming from out of state are so used to the harsh laws back home that they are overly discreet in their use and possession anyway.

Respect is key. I only mentioned what I did because I have seen a lot of comments from folks who seem to think that everyone here smokes weed now that it is legal and that the culture is somehow revolving around it all, much as those who have never been to Amsterdam often believe that everyone in town is walking around getting high openly on the street/etc. because they have a lax policy regarding MJ use in the coffeeshops Nothing could be farther from the truth in either instance.

Advice: If yer coming for a visit, simply ASK the hotel you are looking at stayin in if they allow weed/weed smoking on premise. We aren't so open here that we allow use in public, but most folks will respect your asking/getting an OK upfront rather than having to toss you out on the curb in the snow later because you didn't check on their policy before renting the room.

have a safe trip

This is very true, there are even 420 friendly hotels. In fact, there is a hotel in Manitou Springs in which the owner gives you a bag of pot to enjoy during your stay (if you stay long enough). I believe you have to smoke the pot in a specific location though in the hotel.

please don't touch, shake or breath on the flowers...if you're visiting the Front Range red rocks is a must see, the Denver Art Museum will get you downtown, them maybe rocky mountain national park, or get a b-bike and cruise the bike path around confluence park

enjoy your stay!
