Sour power Biker & 24k white gold karma

:comfort:I'll have to try adding some hydroton and Coco to it. That sounds like a good loose mix. I just picked some things up at home Depot to make a DWC veg tote and a couple 2 gallon bubble buckets. Should be getting the pumps and airstones in the mail Friday. I can't wait to have a separate area for vegging. It is such a pain to veg and flower in the same room. It's a 26"x8'x7' closet, should be plenty of room to experiment in :comfort:

I have not but I just looked it up and it seems interesting, I like that you can go between 24-36 hours with out watering, that's amazing. Have you used it? Do you recommend it?

Hey alpha

No I've not used it myself
But I know other growers who swear by it
Ill prob end up putting some karma gear in some mapito sometime and doing a thread
If no one else does !

Thanks

That's nice to hear, the price of a 19 liter bail is very reasonable@ $35 it would definitely be something worth trying. It's also reusable which is nice. I might pick some up at some point to give a try in a future grow. Thanks for letting me know about it. I've always used hydroton because I grew for a while in small 3" net pots in flood tables. I'm new to using big net pots, Ebb buckets is new to me, mapito might be alot better when using huge net pots for sure.

Update: I'm noticing the 24k white gold are more susceptible to over watering just like my tangilope. Also, they are starting to get the same leaf deficiency as my tangilope had. Not sure if it's from the tap water I was using, but today I switched to crystal geyser spring water. It has a pH of 6.7 and 60ppm. I'm hoping I can correct the problem. Also, I will have to water on a separate schedule than the sour power bikers. The sour power look fine and show no signs of issues.

I'm not sure exactly what the leaf deficiency is. Guessing the tap water is causing it. 7.9 pH and 240ppm. PHed to 6.5. tmp_2066-Screenshot_2014-09-05-16-22-532084573871.jpg

Finished up the modest veg closet. Added another t8 fixture. Running x2 32w cool white and x2 daylight bulbs. Should help veg times a little bit. Also got my tent organized and put up new ducting. tmp_3480-Screenshot_2014-09-06-16-31-28-2109996445.jpg

I repotted the plants into 1.5 gallon pots of straight promix hp. I switched over to using ro water as my water became piss in a faucet over time. Tap water was 8.1 pH and 270ppm. I was phing the tap water and still was getting plant symptoms, so ro from now on. They are stunted but should be fine. I'm more comfortable in soilless mix. Will up date in a week or two, depending on progress. I hope they take off quickly:tiphat: tmp_3223-Screenshot_2014-09-11-23-59-28-1543273061.jpg

Hey alpha

The leaf def you mentioned happens on my friends tangie
It has passed on the trait to her clones

The only time we did not see it occur was when I put her into a hydro system
soil coco etc the def shows

Thanks

Hey GA, thanks for the tip, that makes me feel better because I was so confused about what was happening to my tangilope and the 24k, it puts my mind at ease to know it might just be genetic. I think it's just a magnesium Def. So it shouldn't be too hard to fix. I can't wait until they are big enough to clone so I can try them in hydro. Probably another 3 or 4 weeks in the promix they should be big enough to clone and check the genders. They are looking much better since being up potted

Today I decided to FIM the tops of the plants . They are about 4 weeks old. They started off slow (100% my fault) but now they are growing quickly in the pro mix. They have 6 nodes. tmp_30834-Screenshot_2014-09-14-13-37-35-2143891191.jpg

Plants are growing great now. Some have their 9 finger leaves, so I can say they have entered the teenage stage. Beautiful leaves. Very nice color. tmp_24292-Screenshot_2014-09-17-14-29-57-448320752.jpg

tmp_3486-IMG_20140920_172624197228210.jpg Thanks randomman and GA!

The fimming went well so far, looks like they should have about 4 tops or so. The node growth is starting to kick in now so I hope to have some bushy plants soon :)

Hope yall have a nice weekend. I'm on the hunt for a new pad, hopefully will be moving in a couple weeks or so into a bigger place. Pretty stoked :)
