Krunch i have a feeling you wouldn't want to live in hawaii for 5-8 years. Your problem might be you are too close to the city.

try Nicaragua, go visit San Juan Del Sur or Bocas del Toro Panama
my ex moved to Bocas del Toro after we split up :violin:

she called it a tropical island paradise, stayed there for a couple years before she moved back to cali to rejoin society.

damn i miss that girl.

Thinking I just want to sell EVERYTHING and move to Italy, Spain or Costa Rica....

Living in California just sucks! Gas is $4.20 a gallon, rent is $2500 for a 4 bedroom, electricity STARTS around 15 cents a killowatt and skyrockets from there, up to 4X...

Its not even worth it to grow indoors with the price of electricity in California....

Just TRY buying a house right now in California! My partner sold her TOWNHOUSE for $950k and is having a hard time finding a house, she has been looking for months!! You CANT even bid on a house unless you start at 15% above asking price!!!!

And owning a business in California? Try owning three, I get raped with NO lube every month for crazy taxes, FUCK THESE TAXES!!! On top of that MY income gets taxed again...

Healthcare? What a FUCKING joke!!!

I just want to live somewhere on a beach, sell pot to tourists, go fishing and swim....

Rant over, my bad....

Texas ... its where everybody from so cal seems to be headed no income tax, Cheaper homes, cheap land. + Texans love when we move down there :) on another note San juan del sur isn't a bad idea I've thought about it some years back until my costa rican friend sold me on CR and the Ticas.

You vote for the state you get.

You get the government you deserve.

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.

Apparently the people in California really like taxes and regulations.

Krunch - What's up man, long time to talk.

My wife and I just moved up to the Sierra Mountains and we love it. We have a well and use tens of thousands of gallons a week while most cities in the bay are starting to tax your use. Solar panels, 3+ acres, chickens, dogs, fish, cats, deer, fishing, swimming holes, ATV trails. Sun all summer long, not that fog everyday bullshit. 4 seasons, not 60 all year. I was paying 2400 a month for a mortgage, which would pay for 4 places up here. Once I got out of the bay and moved into this place, the stress oozed off like butter in the sun. Smoking that first joint under the stars was unforgettable.

The city blows. People try to make fun of "hill billies" but really the rat race in the city is for the birds. ESPECIALLY if your moving WITH money. Hard to make money out in the sticks, but if you already have some money, imo, it's well worth it. Just one stoners point of view.

One thing however is my girl is great and doesn't need material things. Sure I try to spoil her, but I remember some of your posts about diving for pearls in clams in the bay for Valentine's day......If your girl desires the finer things all the time, the country may not work. It is dirty, and good clothes get ruined very fast.

Yeah but on the con side, Texas is most likely going to be one of the last if not the last, of states to legalize or at least decriminalize marijuana.

Keep your chin up bro, haters gonna hate, life is gonna be hard. I can save you a ton of time and explain what happns if you move. You go through this move ditch everything, warm sunny place blah blah blah, 10 minites later you notice that your bored and you see a guy selling fish, you figure a way to get more fish and sell them faster. BAM instant rat race again.

Truth is people like us, can't be people like them. The sooner you get comfortable and find your center while being the best person you can be, the happier you are, no geographical change will help.

Spent a while in the cuts of Northern California/Southern Oregon for almost a week...

Refreshing reminder of what life is outside the Bay Area...

We are already thinking of moving up there. Not as far North, but up there...

Thinking closer to the beach....

Brookings, Oregon is beautiful and seems to be much cleaner and well kept than the towns just across the border into California. The coastal towns north of there are pretty, but the climate starts changing pretty rapidly as you go north. Crescent City has always seemed grungy as hell to me - I think that there is still debris on the beach from the tsunami in 1964, and the prison there doesn't help. Trinidad used to be very nice, but I haven't been there in years. Around Eureka you had better like living in a continual fog bank. Arcata was used by the Navy in WWII for testing their equipment in heavy fog.

mexico got it all...long as you aint a white boy that likes to wear a lot of bling...then you might end up kidnapped....mexico is cheap and you can buy your way out of most bad situations ,cheaper than bail and a lawyer in the usa....

Krunch come to the mendo coast. Great community of loving people who escaped the rat race years ago. It's not too sticky but very private.

Think Canada

Halifax is great(I loved visiting) plenty of pot heads, spend your winters snowbirding if the cold bothers you.

Prices are decent, income tax isn't bad for what we get....

Price of meds are cheap out in BC...but prices increase as you head east.

With some capital you can start a biz and be successful

Rural property is cheap also, and as for friendly The first week I moved into my rural property, I damn near burned down my neighbours barn and she invited me over for a BBQ afterwords....so YES WE ARE FRIENDLY.
