First time grower having problems.

Hi Icmag.

Long time smoker, first time grower here.

So, i have finally decided to start to grow my own shiat with a mate.

So we have bought a 4x4 tent, an 800 cbm carbon filter and a 420/800 exhaust fan. An adjust a wing avenger medium with super spreader. 3 fresh air hoses which draws cold air in from outside.
Timer set from 5pm to 11 am. The coolest hours of the day, more or less. Temps dont exceed 30 degrees celcius. After 8-9pm temps are 26-27. Running 400W Veg bulb & 600W bloom bulb.

We are growing them in 11 litres containers where they where put in after they had germinated. Maybe i should have started of in smaller containers, just thought it would be easier to start them in the ones they should finish in.

Soil mix is 50% soil, 25% leca and 25% perlite, so should be good enough. I would have liked if the soil were more "airy"..? But seems to drain good enough, within a minute or 2 water is coming out the bottom.
First time i watered the whole complete soil mixture before putting it over in containers, with 10 litres of water over a couple of times, i had mixed fertilizer in it, half the normal dosis.

We are growing 7 white widows and 2 jack herrers.
The JH's look okay i think. It's worse with the white widows, they don't look too good. Some of the leaves are crumbling..? :dunno:

They are about 10 days old. Started light schedule 27 aug.

So will post some pictures of my ladies so you clever guys in here can have a look.

Here are the WW's. http://imgur.com/a/RZmL3

And the JH.

Please give your best advice on what could be wrong..?

Thanks.

Regards

Just in case keep the 600w bulb 60cm away from your plant and the 400w 40cm.

I think its a problem with your pH and/or nutes. Which type of nutes are you using? Organic or mineral? If you're using mineral you really should check out the pH of the water.

White widow margaritas!!

They don't look too bad

what kind of soil are you using? They usually don't need ferts if the soil is pre-charged. Watch your waterings. Is it just peat moss/leca/perlite??

Okay, sounds good. Just don't like the crumbling on some of the leaves..? Especially one of the widows where the lowest leaves are all bend inwards..

So have raised the light to ~50cm instead of 40cm before going to bed and watered them with plain ph'ed water, looks like they liked it.

Im using HESI's ferilizer for soil.

Yes, it's just 50%peat moss/25%leca/25%perlite. Should be some ferts in the peat moss according to the bag. So my own fault for putting ferts int he first 10 litres of water.

But they can survive and produce a descent amount of buds you think..?

Thanks for your reply guys, appreciate it.

only saw a pic of the ww, it looks ok man dont stress...theyre small so be easy on them, its important not to over do it...rule of thumb on lights, hold your hand under it to find out a comfortable distance, too hot for your hand is way too hot for plants...those r babies they dont need a ton of light..in the future you should start them in smaller and "up pot them", meaning just transplant up in size...try not to love them to death, just let them grow, ask questions and read read read gl

HESI can be a little bit overpowered. I never used this brand longtime ago I wrote them an email about the pH because I couldn't find anything on their growscheme or website. They never replied back so I used an another brand. The correct pH you need to use is 5.8.

For babyplants you can raise the bulbs a little bit higher and lower them after a while. I vegged once under 300watt of fluorescent bulb (9500K) and holy crap they grew very fast there was a big difference when I used 6500k fluorescent bulb. Maybe you should try it too, it will save you a lot of money (if you pay for your electricity). Fluorescent dont generate much heat compared to HPS and HID.

Don't worry if you correct this problem you'll still get good buds.

Thanks all you guys. Must be over worrying a bit for my small ladies perhaps. Just want them to come out so nice as possibly after reading a shitload of info on this growing stuff :D :p

Just checked on them when the lights started, looked even better today. So will just continue with plain ph'ed water for the next 7-10 days.

I furthermore installed a 120mm and a 80 mm pc fan cooling on top of the hood, so temps shouldn't exceed 28 degrees celcius. :D And the light is about 45-50 cm from the top of the plants. So temps def. shouldn't be a problem.

@FromHolland
Ph 5,8 sounds very low...?
I only use a oldschool manual ph testing kit. :/ Will soon order a proper one. :)

Thanks for all your help everyone, think im right on track now.. :D

28 degrees is measured almost right under the light, 20-25cm.

Best regards.
