Cannabinoid Levels at the Beginning of a Bowl vs. At the End

I generally have a practice of smoking a small amount of potent weed. Just one hit. Go for full combustion. Sometimes I dry the weed for an hour in the sun so that it crumbles really fine and burns better.

Anyway, I was wondering about the normal practice of sharing bowls, where you fill one up and pass it around. The first person gets a fresh bowl, the last person gets something that may look a little bit more like charcoal.

It's all good smoke, and fun to smoke in a group :woohoo:

but I was wondering - how do the cannabinoid levels vary between that first hit and the last person who hits on it before the bowl is cleaned and re-loaded ?

OK I guess it depends on the strain. I don't have a strain print out in front of me. Something with 19% THC or 20% THC and 'normal' levels of CBN and CBD, I guess.

Adjust you group by seating, so the more experienced toker ignites the bowel, with the most inexperienced toker positioned center so gets 2 mid tokes per bowel, assuming the bowel goes around then back again..?

When I used to smoke, used single hit bowl on bong. Did that for over 30 years, and would cough up crap every morning. Switched to the Arizer Extreme-Q vape, and never cough up crap anymore. Would never go back to smoking. The temps of burning destroy the THC content.

depending on the sixe of the bowl... id say most average size spoons have high concentrations of cannabinoids the first few hits but then its vaporized by the time it turns black. i smoke about 5-6 puffs then blow it out. mf girlfriend says i waste herb but really its all vaporized by that point.

That seems like a possible reason to use a joint, in a water pipe. You're always burning fresh, uncombusted THC, at least until it's a soggy roach.

and side-stepping the 'vaporization is better' debate.

I have done the joint in the water pipe routine in the past, and it hits great. Of course it is also wasteful, only about 5% of what goes up as smoke goes into the lungs.

THC has a boiling point of 200°C (392°F). However before the THC boils, other parts of the oil evaporate and boil.

Here are some important temperatures: At 21°C (70°F) the most volatile terpenoids start to evaporate, lending a pungent odor to the air.

At 31°C (87°F) the less volatile terpenoids start to evaporate, lending the air even more pungent odors.

At 39°C (102°F ) virtually all of the terpenoids undergo evaporation fairly rapidly.

At 50°C (122°F) THC-Acid decarboxylates as the water molecule held in the carbonate form evaporates. This activates the THC.

At 66°C (150°F) Cannabidiol (CBD) melts and starts to evaporate.

At 185°C (365°F) Cannibinol (CBN) boils.

At 200°C (392°F) THC boils. Clear vapor from a vaporizer.

A good vaporizer runs at 220 C

Cannabis burns at 500-700 C

Can not post a link.

That is first post I found, many more. Claims THC is converted to carbon, when overheated.
