Now Advanced Led does not sell this unit anymore so to be fair I am going to call them up tomorrow an give them a chance to send out a comparable unit to test against. I'm thinking the DS200, but that's a shot in the dark. Don't hurt to ask though I say.

I will post a link to the side by side thread here tomorrow for anyone interested.

Yes you are going to love this light, I got the 189x all I use is Golden Tree Nutrients, What brand of food do you give your ladies?

Lucas adjusted to the ladies liking with botanicare cal/mg, black strap molasses, liquid kelp, Cap's Root Pack, Floralicious bloom, an either koolbloom powder or gonna grab some Moab powder. Foliar of magic green an kelp alternated. Probably a few others but cant remember. I have some hum nutrients big up that i might use as my pk booster......will see. All depends on what the girls want an need.

Edit...an epsom salt.

If at all still possible would love to compare one of HGLs lights to my Lumigrow Pro 325. I believe I qualify. If they are up to the challenge would love to entertain ya. Thank you and looking forward to how the test lights stack up. The LED world is full of claims and numbers but all that matters is results. I think I could do a good side by side. Just waiting on clones to root for the side by side. If they don't root by this Friday, i'm gonna rethink the side by side an might just run it as a test light to show what she can do. Still gonna have 2 sections in the tent with each led, but just not the same plants on each side if these clones don't take soon. Can't really call that a side by side.

TO ALL THE READERS OUT THERE

This thread was started a long time ago and was not properly maintained by staff at Hydro Grow LED. As a result there were many angered that no one ever received a light, and when management learned of this it was corrected. We have since sent out one free light; however the rest of our offer remains unclaimed. So we would like to re-start this offer to anyone who is interested. You have 2 weeks to get in your applications before we decide who will receive lights. Here are the details again:

Hydro Grow won’t simply give away a light to just anyone. Contest winners need to meet certain criteria in order to qualify:

#1) Contest Applicants must have at least 2 completed grow journals on ICMag.com

#2) Contest Applicants must have more than 200 posts on ICMag.

#3) Contest Applicants must have a quality digital camera and the ability to record and upload 720P or better quality videos.



The 3 grow tests Hydro Grow is willing to support are as follows (no HID vs LED per Admin Request):

1) Any “all white” LED Grow Light vs Hydro Grow LED (applicant must already own an “all white” LED Grow Light).

2) Any standard LED Grow Light vs Hydro Grow LED (applicant must already own a competing LED Grow Light).

3) Two standard seed or clone to harvest tests featuring Hydro Grow LED Grow Lights.


For comparison grow tests, Hydro Grow will supply a light with the closest wattage and footprint to whichever LED Grow Light you are presently using. For the standard tests, Hydro Grow will supply any light up to the 189X-PRO or SOL 9 – 450W model.

Comparison tests must be performed using clones from the same mother under each light, with no other altered variables. For example the nutrient mixture and feeding times must be the same for each set of plants, the ambient air temp and humidity must be the same, etc… The test must show from clone all the way to harvest, with comparative values listed for dry yield at the end.

Standard tests may be performed via seed or clone and must document progress from seedling or clone to harvest, including the dry yield at the end.


To become a contestant, one must nominate themselves in this thread and state which grow test they would like to perform. Those who meet the criteria above will be listed in 2 weeks as candidates for these tests, at which time members of the ICMag community will have 3 days to vote on who they want to see perform the test.

Winners of the contest are required to post a full grow journal using the supplied LED Grow Light from Hydro Grow, to the ICMag forums. Each journal must be updated by the grower at least once every 10 days, with each update requiring at least (5) HD quality photos and (1) 720P or better video that is 45 seconds or longer. These videos and photos are also required to be submitted to Hydro Grow LED for future marketing purposes. Those who do not fulfill these posting guidelines will be charged in full for the light at the end of their test. Those who meet the criteria will be allowed to keep the light free of charge. Do you have what it takes? If so then get nominating!

I believe I qualify and would love to do a side by side against my lumigrow pro 325. I believe the 189x would be closest in wattage being 290-325. There are not a lot of grows with the lumigrow pro 325s on the internet in general so I think it would be well followed and very interesting to see if your 290w can beat their 325. Anyways thank you for considering me and hope to get a shot to do this test. Peace and smoke.
