Certain sativa definitely needs less feed. Im willing to bet you dont have nute burn and its actually the opposite...theyre hungry. I have a few smaller sativas going and they have been fed 6/9 from day 1 and theyre green and healthy.

Hey guys I have a 55 gal runbermaid trash can holding my ro water for easy access while healing from surgery. I rubeed my hands on the side and felt what seemed like a slimy texture but no signs of mold or algea or anything. Trash can is black ans has a black lid as well. Should I add peroxide to the water in the can to prevent any algea. Its been around 90 here still so i assume maybe temps have something to do with it. Most people said dont add air pump or air stone. So if I add peroxide it should evap in 2_3 days and everything should be sanatized with no harm to plants during future use ? I figure if some os left over it will only clean root system and add co2 to the root zone right?

I think that is algae, I get the same problems, with no harm towards the lady's. Just scares me that it will contribute to clogging lines and food for fungus gnats. Id recommend when it emptys clean and sanitize, then insulate the res from light sources. I like reflectix for this.

1/4 c per gallon easy peasy, wipe down the inside to release it from the surface if your going to sanitize and use. It's a biofilm, a thin sheen of bacteria/microbes. No harm to the plants if you watered with H202, even at around 1/2-1 c a gallon.

Scrub your tub on a regular basis. It's like showering, the more the merrier.

Im just running the drip clean so I dont have to pull the plants out to water with runoff. When im healed better and have more time energy etc. Ill try no runoff with no drip clean and if i lock shit up ill be able to pull plants out to feed with runoff.

Cool, drip clean is another that Ive heard experienced people liking, but for me I couldn't tell if it helped. I know my drip emitters I used at the time clogged up while using it, but to be fair, I was using a real small pump.

I think your plan is a bit safer, don't think it hurts at least.

Were you using any silica additives at the time?

Youd think the drip clean would have helped with UNclogging those lines..and I assume 40 is gonna say it was most likely the silica or the nutes that clogged them not the dc.

Do you know what dc is? It's an acid and all acids are anticlogging by nature.

Fuk that no runoff stuff:biggrin: I yanked my blumats and am done with no runoff forever. Don't count on seeing a lock out in the leaves. They can look fine and the plant can be in a stall mode, which is far below optimum growth. IMO don't go longer than a week with no runoff- dc or not.:tiphat:

Dang 40 I think it was you who sold me on dc hahah. Ive been doing it in veg for about 2 weeks now and everything including the 1 in promix is exceling and look perfect. I was also looking into the blumats for vacation time dawg.. what happened? Locked em out and couldnt tell? Wih no other signs ie: clawing or deff signs.

Oh I'm not quitting my DC, love that stuff for keeping things balanced and it does work with no runoff to a certain point. 2 months with no runoff is waaay past that point IMO:biggrin: Blumats and DC would have worked for me if I would handwatered them to runoff every 5-7 days or so, I think. Ya. I think the bud development stalled with no other signs. I'm so undialed in who knows other than Fuk that no runoff for long periods stuff. Blumats are not perfect and they just run and keep dripping for no damn reason sometimes and at worse they can drain your entire rez in a fullblown runout if plugged and the plug breaks. Happened once to me so you better be prepared for that while on vacation. I may hook them back up or I may switch to a dtw, I change my mind every 5 minutes. Right now I'm handwatering with 25% runoff:tiphat:

Cant remember honestly if I ran those together. Im sure at one time I ran them together and separately but not as a test, just the nature of trying to figure what was going wrong back then and grabbing at straws.

I like to get a good 15% run off plus. But I know freds and some others killed it with no runoff drip clean and silica. Its all in the details. He had valves, I was using drip emitters with a little 396gph pump. those might have been the differences in effect. Just goes to show there is a million ways to skin this cat.

Ya I read their posts and it influenced me to try it. I can't remember what nutes and what ec they ran it at. I can tell you one thing for sure and that's all the salts put into the medium stay there with no runoff and DC ain't magically going to change that.
When people say there's lots of ways to skin a cat I know they never skinned a cat. I trapped for decades and skinned hundreds of them (mostly Lynx) and I know for a fact there are very few ways to skin a cat:biggrin:
