Larger collection spool for MKIII

Is anybody making a larger collection spool for the MKIII 6" lid?

I would like to run more solvent per cycle. Around 7 litres/8.8Lbs.

I have a feeling the increased surface area inside the spool would be beneficial to recovery times.

Does this sound doable or is there a metric Im missing here?

Heheh, what cyphaman said.

I had mine made for me. Essentially, you can run just about any feasible column size.

Sorry, not quite sure why the pic is sideways

I own that TERPP 6"x12" spool. It's not even close to being big enough to do what I'm describing.

How much did yours run you?

Glacier sells 6" spools in 12, 24, 36, and 48" lengths, so I am sure you can find something suitable for what you want to do.

All you listed was that you wanted to run 8.8 lbs of solvent.

Maybe I am misunderstanding what exactly what you want to do. You want to be able to hold 8.8lbs of solvent in the collection pot at once? Aren't you going to need to modify your lid if you go much bigger?

I apologize if I wasn't clear. Yes, I want to hold 8.8 pounds in the collection spool. It's so I can do an open blast of 1lb of material into a single collection pot instead of having to do multiple washes of less solvent.

Im hoping to find something like in Chonskis picture. Something that the 6" lid clamps onto.

I would rather have it be wider than taller but if a very long 6" spool is all that's available that will have to do I guess.

I know terppextractors and specialized formulations both offer 12" to 6" triclamp reducers for somewhere around 350-450 shipped. To have mine made costed around 200$. Parts from glacier, had it machined and welded.

I already had the larger collection vessel though. You'd have to buy the 12"x12" vessel and bottom endcap+ clamps and gaskets. Might get a little pricey. But I love my setup. I can do small runs, big runs, any tube size, and by feathering the valves I virtually never get anything aspirated up into the intake. Which is why I set my 6"x6" spool on top.

Glacier also sells a 12" to 6" tri clamp reducing end cap, but it is out of stock just like every other item they sell pretty much, they have it priced for $183.

Be careful with the pressure rating if you plan on using 12" tri-clamps, those big ones make me a little uneasy.

Yeah, I forgot about that! I have a 10" collection. So that's why I had to get mine made.

My pressures never see above 30psi, but I know what ya mean.
