We have ignition, same room but under the first 5 minutes of hps, previous pic was a work light. The second frame is the veg room with my moms now directly under the mh bulbs, they were sitting on the outside perimeter of the room see frame 3 while the sog plants received the intense light. Now the sog is gone the moms will get a day of full light and the reqd cuts for flower round 9 will be taken in full tommorrow so that we stay on our planned 35 day cycle. The switching moms in and out of the light system is working great. So next we will have our reqd coffee cup clones and zippy humidity domes, I have posted those pics before so I will have to be creative or this is going to be repeat over and over, I will probably just run the journal until the next flower room fires up in 35 days. Patients are raving about the taste and nose on the sage sour so life is good, to be totally honest the dark star was so gooey and really super mind rape. Slapping forehead, so if anyone would care to suggest strains that might do good in this set up, we will be placing a bean order soon.
Took the reqd cuts for the next flower round that starts in 34 days, choosing to take a majority of the cuts from just a few donors vs. Spreading out the cuts over all of the donors and it became clearly evident that we have too many donors.... a good problem, I suppose. Seeing this we believe it would be smart to lean out to just the reqd amount of moms for that strain to keep the sogs moving along. Freeing up that floor space would prove to be beneficial to adding another strain.... since the dark star and the sage are so danky we are thinking of staying with th seeds for a prospect. 4 choices to elect from but this is what we are thinking....
Mk ultra a g-13 cross haze that just won a cup in Spain.
Chocolate chunk a good pixk for sog grows and fast finish
Burmese kush... who denies rich OG taste
Da purps a grapey taste that finishes with color, only problem is pheno instability. I would be willing to do some pheno hunting for a quality grapey champ. Even thou this strain might be harder to find a keeper I believe done organically it could be very taste not to mention if we do end up outdoors next season to have a purple tendency plant that's finishing in Oct when its in the 60s sounds just fine with us. Please let us know what u think
Oh yeah forgot.... have 2 1000s, 1 600, and a big bulb turned down 50%, it is clear as to who is throwing the candle power, I tell ya if we weren't battling heat it would be nothing but 1000s. Firm believer in biggest bulbs now, so glad I had the opportunity of 3 levels of hps wattage output.
Thank u Otto for stopping and for the compliment! Not out of greed just the desire to cultivate at a high level still striving for more of a industrial set up in the future, higher amp panel, cooler outdoor temps and that kind of thing. Currently at day 4 in flower room North round 8, waiting to feed the transition mix until tonight, would of prefered to do that on day 1 next time..... ah duh! Experience will bear greatest knowledge. While flower room south sits empty and dark awaiting the cuts from flower round 9 in 32 days. Looking forward to having pics of the north side at day 60 and the south at day 30.....hmmmmm grin
Sunrise 9 of 60
Flower sites forming with obvious stretching. Corners appear to be holding firm on count.
Continue with nursing cuts until ready to surface.
About a week to go before the cuts from next round surface as clones, continue to burb the zips daily to acclimate cuts, provide fresh o2 for new roots and to prevent mold. In the past I have left the zips sealed for 14 days, only to open to a fresh bag of mold...... ewww trash can.
Second pic is current moms with rooting cuts on perimeter of light pattern, as the cuts become established plants in the next week to 10 days, the moms will go back outside trading places with the new clones to veg out sog round 9
Feeding flower room later today so the sea should look pretty mean tomorrow.
Even thou the lowers are descent nugs, I'm going to lolipop out some of the lowers next week (day 17) in hopes the tops will be that much better.
The cuts are doing good many are growing and established in the zippys, but ill wait three more days before surfacing to dry air for any stragglers. Storms have things a little humid out so we sprayed for mildew tonight, I'll spray up to about the 28th day cause pm ain't no joke. Eye balling the plants in sog it looks like a lollipop pruning up to the last 12 inches of stretch will leave nothing but nice ripe tops basking in light penetration.
This is day 14, and mk ultra might be ordered soon.
Lollipop at day 15, filling a 5 gal bucket with clippings it took 4 hours to do the entire room to include watering each container. I believe as time goes on it will become even quicker. To be honest the plants get fed in three days and I will perform one last fine lollipop pass over hitting anything that may have been missed but at least 90% of it is done at just 2 weeks. Tommorrow I'm going to start the process of surfacing clones with just 3 weeks to go before flower round 9 south room is baking day one.....yesssss!
Day 16, always look the best the day after watering. Flower round 9 clones looking good, slamming them directly under the big blue bulbs tommorrow leaving me with about 12 days to veg out in the coffee cups and then another week in transplanted 1 gals before flipping the light on them and then immediately starting the propergation for flower round 10. As soon as the current room pictured is finished I will be adding a couple strains still thinking what to get.... a purple, a grape, a strawberry, a og, or g13???? So many choices
I realize this is repeat but i would prefer to journal the initial stocking and turning of the rooms atleast one complete cycle. Donors to the outside and surfaced clones to the inside. These clones will veg 20 days and then will be flower round 9 which will be given cutting edge sour Apple sweetner vs. Sugar-eee so a comparison in two with same pheno.
Hello, seeing that the veg room had to many mothers we pulled 6 and cut them down. Don't like doing that kind of thing but ultimately I hope to have a nice green house where plants like that can be flowered out, or night lighted for large veggin purposes.
Freezer with a couple different grades of trim and popcorn. Notice kief press on center rack and Reese's peanut butter cup ice cream with a lil 100 micron kief, pictured last.
Thanks ultimatefreak! Its a 10 x 9 room, originally I ran four 1000s but it was a little too warm so one of the ballasts is dialed down to 50% and another is dialed in at 600 watts. So I have 2 1000s, 1 600, and 1 500 ish. I figure 3100 watts in a 10 x 9. The next room that will be fired up in 2 weeks are not adjustable output ballasts, it will be two 1000s and two 600s. Everything on 240 volts and hps bulbs.
Thats awesome, sounds like everything is pretty well dialed in. Any idea what you pull g/watt? Im runnin 2-600s and with just 5 ladies in a 4x8 and im hopin to at least get .8 or .9/watt this first round through hahaha.
To be honest I have no idea, maybe .5 per?? I cant even begin to guess with 35 days to go. I can say this thou..... its gonna be alot of trimming, with this strain she is close to filled out at day 50 and really starts to nose it up around then too. I'm a good three and a half weeks from that, but what I'll do is average out in my head what each site looks to hold if shrunken down and dried and figure that number as a average for the room.... just a raw guesstimate really. Once everything hangs for 5 days, I'll scale it up. I'm about 40 days from that point
