Hey Dubi and all...

I will not post my full resume here but give you enough info to chime in on my question.

Experienced grower, 1K room with somewhat limited height,
always a scrogger and or lst'er ( pending situation).

Always experimenting with new strains popping beans and cloning
from lower branches for the next grow...

And then theres the old standbys which have served me well...

Keep a GFxBB Chimera mum and P.O.G dutchman and Skunk #1
dutchman mums in the small closet under fluoros for cuttings for
quite a while now.. They were the best of the best 10+ years ago and continue to serve me well..

Wanting to play in to the darkside ( Ace sativas) for fun and other reasons.. Usually grow 8 plants at a time, Have 4 panama females and 4 zams females on hand and going to pop them for a pure Dubi sativa grow.

Im pretty good at managing height/stretch. Question is .....
How do I continue the lineage of the best of the best of this
grow? Do I clone (as usual) with multiple cuttings for the next grow? And if I do how do I keep the stretch down while the original girls do there thang for 9-12 weeks without outgrowing my cabinet?
Or do I search for a mum with the best characteristics and try to keep her in my limited environment to give me the clones that I need like mentioned of my mums above??

Or do I just continue to order feminised seeds because it is too difficult in my environment to maintain a mum and/or maintain
clones of these stretchy girls till the main room is available again? NOT that I have a problem
that...

Or do I search for a good boy to pollinate the girl and make my own seeds..( last option) either way is ok with me.. but this is my last option because I would just assume to order fem seeds then to
deal with sexing... especially when I know how to treat a mum and/or clone....

Dubi and all inputs appreciated

Nuk

It shouldn't be too difficult to keep a good mum.
You should look at mikrosativagrow.
There you can see that you can keep sativa in small cup and when you cut it down regularly, it doesn't take too much room. And then you trim roots too 2/3 times a year?
I have had some zamaldelicas for years now, though I do take cuttings and keep it alive that way.

Greetings nukklehead,

If the environment conditions in the mother room are correct (high photoperiod, direct light, enough root space etc ...) then you shouldn't have problems to keep mums of our genetics under fluoros, just do it in the same way you are keeping your other mums. Only auto flowering genetics can not be preserved in clone form.

Panama has no auto flowering traits, original Zamaldelica standard had a semi auto flowering pheno that is a bit more difficult to keep in clone form but now is not so frequent in later releases.

Please, let us know if you have any doubt during the process.
Best wishes!
