QWET with ground up trim

I have been making my oils for years with trim. My new batch of trim came from an electric trimmer that turned it into something that looks like kief. When I use the method of QWET, my solvent is very dark green, even after winterizing. I tested the trim and it is about 15% THC. Can some one suggest a different method with my trim being so ground up?

When you rupture or cut and expose the inner parts of a cell, its chlorophyll is more readily accessible to the polar solvents, such as ethanol, that it is soluble in.

Switching to a non polar solvent, as suggested, will minimize the problem, but you will most likely still get a pale electric green tint to your extract, because even butane will hold up to 32ml/L water, which is highly polar and will transport chlorophyll.

Freeze it to tie up any water present, as well as any water soluble chlorophyll binding proteins, and use subzero butane for a better shot.

I'm not comfortable using butane. I thought I read somewhere that just placing my oil in the sun would break down the chlorophyll without harming the cannabinoids. Is that true?

Also true, albeit at a much slower rate. 2 hours in the sun should do little harm and give you a more amber extract.
