Organic nutes no Senescence ?

We are approaching a shift in knowledge about what we think we know about producing truly healthy cannabis and plants in general.
I agree and why I was stoked when Kempf got involved in canna. Worked with 3 friends/gardens in CO recently and got them all hooked on AEA, and Tainio, stuff. Was the first time I dealt with the amendments and all of us were scratching our heads regarding how the plants were growing, stacking, flowering, etc. Pest/disease resistance improved dramatically. Clones from plants on the program even grow differently from cutting.

it will be interesting for sure how science and agricultural advancement will change our attitudes and practices. I have a theory that triggering senescence may actually help yields and potency because it begins the process of re-cycling nutrients already stored within the plant material - at a time when the roots are decreasing in their efficiency for nutrient uptake.
Well you won't have to wait much longer with professional agronomists in the game now.

I ran bd back in the day for years before it went pop culture. Some ppl said 8-9 weeks.an old friend told me I was wasting my time harvesting that early and she won't finish right til 11.5 weeks. My blue dream doubled in yield and the smellwas excellent most folks couldn't recognize it cause everyone harvests too early. It's a huge plant with beautiful buds, personally I think it lacks in the potency dept. even when done properly. Great cash cropper though if you got a legit cut...

overfed plants have a much harder time changing color, as do plants that are in the corners.

Wow , lots of great information . Thanks everyone .
The strain in question is Black Widow . I have run it for a few years now , Just never tried "organic" nutes or vert . I did a few tests with and without flushing and leaching.
It didn't seem to make a difference with senescence . the last batch came out tasting great (no chlorophyll) looked great and was really potent too.
I usually run it 10-11+ weeks . I only start the countdown from when they actually start flowering so add 10-14 days . Don't get me wrong it had yellow leaves (maybe 20%)just no where near what I'm used to .

I guess I'll have to run the BD to 11.5 weeks as i run that too . It's not super potent but always taste good and has a decent buzz morning ,noon ,or night .

Funny my ghost train haze and kandy kush look exactly like the photo above . It's funny to me that i have to explain to people why it looks the way it does , all foxtails when they think it must be no good or has been mistreated .

you cant flush a plant, only the medium in which it grows. What you want is the plant to consume its reserves, especially sugars. Im in the line of thinking that if you starve a plant the last weeks of its life "flushing" you are missing out on the best part of flowering and keeping the plant from being all it can be. Packing on essential oils and terpenes in the last two weeks is important. If your nutes are in the soil already like as with soil amendments..Id let them reach harvest date then start locking out nutrients with a PH swing of the water. Making it so the plant cannot uptake anything from the soil. After harvest add some beneficial microbes like spectrum extra, then re amend and reuse...

FWIW,
My:2cents:

Well said I totally agree, flush with compost teas and get all that stuff broken down. Nutrient cycling takes time and especially meals like bone, crab, fish, guano. Let the microbes do the work and recycle soil and repeat.

by flush , I really mean flush .
A milk crate set on the toilet , Hose from the sink . To 74 temp . A clamp . flush for 45 minutes or more .
It didn't seem to matter that much how long i waited
I can't bubble proper "tea" here cause the pump is too loud !
the "teas" I leech in consist of the following : budswel , cytoplus , agsil , molasses and just plain water .
Im trying to figure out if it's the bare bulb , or vert or organic nutes that make them so resinous and sticky . my guess is bare bulb .
