Hello all, long time lurker here. Finally have some of my own going, but am having some problems. Some info about my grow. Goji og, 6 week old in veg, under 1k MH, temps 77, soil is fox farm ocean fores and happy frog mixed about 50/50 with added perlite, water from tap.
I didn't see any problems till this last week. Its only affecting about 50% of my plants. It seems to be really affecting my top, middle, and biggest fan leaves the most. New growth seems to have spot of purple, but not sure yet. Rest of the plant look great though, but maybe with stunted growth...kinda of stump, i though it was phosphorus at first now thinking mag... Any idea?
Thanks for the help, kindsmoke

You may just need to give nutrients. Follow the schedule for fox farm

Yes and thanks for your reply, I thought about that but I only transplanted into these 3 gallon pots to weeks ago, with fresh soil. Thought there must be more than two weeks of food in there. Right?

I was think of putting 1 tbl spoon each of dolomite lime and Epsom salt in each 1 gallon when water. Does that sound right?

I use 1.5 teaspoon dolomite lime and 1/4 teaspoon Epsom salts per gallon. Meets my needs but it hasn't been positively received whenever I've mentioned it here. It will raise your ph pretty substantially. I need that. You may not. I can say that before I started doing this I had leaves that look yours by the end of each grow.

Thanks you everyone for all the help and input, I really appreciate it!

@dabking really, I thought p at first but then it looked like mag. How can you tell the difference? Isn't bone meal slow acting? Do you really think the soil is out of nutrients already, after only two weeks?

@rb56 I think I also read that, so does that mean it could be both p and mg deficient? Why would that be? I feel like condition are pretty good and there should still be nutes left in soil...I'm stumped

@gardning angel thanks I'll be sure to check him out and follow along. Thanks

If its not due lack of nutes in soil, what would be causing it? PH maybe, but I thought soil self adjusted ph..IDK

Thanks Again everyone!!! Please keep the help coming!!!

My understanding is that availability is about both quantities of elements AND the balance between them. pH comes into play as well. Temperature is another influence. To me this means that you can have adequate quantities of everything and still have deficiencies.

Since dave hasn't showed up yet, I'm going to drop these here:

Theses short videos are so much more useful for diagnosing defficiencies thant any photo-comparison.
I'm going to agree with dabking, looks more like P with how dark the leaves are, but check these videos. The information on HOW to ID defficiencies is way more usefull than anyone's online diagnosis.

EDIT: if you didn't ammend your soil, its not "out" after two weeks, itsjust running low on some stuff. I do organics and I'm feeding light the 2nd or 3rd water after transplanting.

Your feeding way too much that dark green is excess of nitrogen locking out micronutrients. can you give more details about your grow. Adding too much nutrients can cause negative effect and does not allow the plant to absorb micro nutrients. that is not magnesium. looks more like potasium lockout. plant using up stored potassium in leaves because it can't properly absorb it. by the way the necrotic parts in the interveinal leaves looks like potassium issues that move inwards. if you add too much nutrients to the soil it will cause a pH imbalance and make matters worse. What your going to have to do is flush the plant with alot of water. Then wait 1 week after the flush to feed. So all the nutes in the mixture will be gone once you flush it properly.

SOIL:

How long has this problem been going on?
What STRAIN are you growing?
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)
What is the age of your plants?
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now?
Were they in the same mixture when they were seedlings/smaller plant? If not, what mixture were they in before?
How Tall are the plants?
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc)
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)
What brand Nutrient's are you using?
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
How often are you feeding?
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?
How often are you testing pH/ppm/EC/TDS?
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen?
How often are you watering?
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding?
What size bulb are you using?
How old is your bulbs?
What is the distance to the canopy?
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity)
What is the canopy temperature?
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?
Is your water HARD or SOFT?
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water?
If using tap water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS of the water right out of the tap?(Only if you have a tds pen)
If using RO,Distilled, mineral water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS without any additives?(Only if you have a tds pen)
Are you using water from a water softener?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?
Are plant's infected with pest's?

I haven't gave them any nutrients. The only food they have had is from a 50\50 mix of foxarm ocean forest and happy frog that they were transplanted in to.

He says in the comments he's not feeding yet. Dark green leaves are also a precursor sign to P defficiencies. Unless thats a crazy super soil, 3 weeks without feeding seems to point to defficieny, rather than toxicity. IMO N tox would have done more by now.:2cents:

Thanks everyone! this is there second week in these new pots and soil. My problem is they started this after only 1 week in fresh soil. How are they deficient already? I'm not sure if I should feed em or flush em lol..... but this is all organic soil with nothing added but perlite. Kindsmoke

oh damn, ok. I use the same soil mix as you, 50/50 oceanforest/happy frog.
have you tried lowering the ph of your water? 9 is really high.
