Demonstrating closed loop indoors at cannacon!

So I attended the cannacon convention in tacoma wa this weekend. it was an event held the same weekend as hempfest in seattle and was kinda geared towards cannabis business owners.

As i walked around this indoor convention center i was very surprised to see the "sub zero extraction" company booth performing a live demonstration!

They were not extracting from cannabis they had other material like lavender.but that was not where my concern was.

Does this seem ethical to others or is this a clearly unsafe practice? I didnt even see any hand held leak detectors!

Id really love to hear the communities opinion

with out leak detectors and proper ventilation and emergency shut offs i wouldn't even think about running indoors. Our emergency shut off turns on 3 12" inline fans that creates positive air pressure and we open a big double door thats usually open when machines are running. We run 2 5# 12" bottom machines and a MKIII every day

I posted the same thing Thursaday when I read on Sub Zero's FB page that this was happening. Thought it was a bad idea than, and think it's a bad idea now. The thought of doing live extraction in a place like Canna Con makes me cringe. So many things could have gone wrong ... can't believe CASKADE TEK is teaming up with these guys. Really lost respect for that company ... it seems they are in it for the money too!!!

Subzero JUST switched to ball valves like a month ago after SO MANY complainants of leaking butterfly valves. Good guy, really nice and pleasure to chat with but i think he needs to do more research on CLS machine before he kills someone with his machine. He doesnt check PSI ratings and is always talking about stuff 3 months after we talk about it on here. Hell ive designed a few machines but you dont see me with a CLS company selling machines. lol

Sorry I missed Canna Con, even after getting free tickets. I stayed home and helped on a WW shipping commitment. Was the extraction indoors?

In what way is Cascade TEK teaming up with Sub Zero?

From what I understand, it was indoors ... and they were extracting some sort of red peper??? They than spread it on parchment and purged it in a Cascade Tek oven, with exsaust just going into the convention center :( Cascade Tek has been working pretty closely with them ... think they've been using several barrowed ovens. Just seems a little weak

No insight, but I do know if they had gone to Cascade TEK and asked for help, CT would most likely have done what they could for them. Catherine, their product manager is motivated to develop the cannabis market place and a dynamic individual. We've enjoyed working with them.

Red pepper is an interesting choice. Did the oven exhaust stink up the place and burn a few eyes?

Its was lavender I believe, and no major scent by the time I got there......I asked cat why she teamed up with SZ and she said "Oregonians stick together"......Its seems she was drawn towards the large stainless bro show they've got going on.

CannCon was less then impressive, even with a 502 pass the vibe presented to me was all the grow store gimmicks for corporate money......

I'm waiting for the new model before I spend my money with cascade.
