i did the exact same thing, had the money deposited for a 5lb bhogart and then realized wtf is really good. my MK5 is in my garage now, and i could build two bhogarts or MK4s with the parts if i wanted too.

How much did it cost and where did you get it? And more importantly how long did it take you to get it from when you ordered? It seems there's very little information about these things, like wtf the difference is between all the different models. That's the biggest reason I was going to get a BHOGart, they're on top of their shit and have everything explained in one spot. I don't have time to search through hundreds of threads to find basic info.

Gray Wolf's the source of the Terpenators, the Mk I-V designs can be found at his site, just scroll down the 'pages' column,

ICMAG Forum is where all the Terp beta testing results are being presented, if you aren't interested in digging in and ridding the big wave, I suggest you find a company that will hold your hand and massage your false ego. ;-)

yup bhogart has their shit in line so they can tell you exactly what you want to hear if you are to apathetic to look into shit yourself, you are right. i paid around 3k for just my parts kit which is basically what you get from bhogart, but like i said i paid 3k for enough parts to essentially build two 5lb bhogarts, so fuck with that, i guess

Good point brother TK! WolfWurx doesn't have their web site together either, but we continue to make progress on it and when it is complete, if we still have parts in stock, we will announce that we are in business, and start acting more like we are.

We refused offers of deposits until we physically had parts in our hand, and did receive our first 20 piece production Chinese parts kits order in.

We didn't advertize the fact, because we are focused on putting together our infrastructure, and continue to have a steady stream of inquiries word of mouth.

We only imported ten sets each of the Mk IVB and MkV2 kits, and although we were ostensibly sold out of the Mk IV's by the time they arrived, after seeing both units side by side, customers overwhelmingly snatched up the Mk V kits, so our first ten units are either gone, part of a turnkey system build, or spoken for.

Hee, hee, hee, one parted out for mah very own Mk VII prototype currently on our R&D list.

I infer what SP is referring to parts wise, is the fact that WolfWurx kits come with a spare set of columns, as well as a spare lower tank, so that you can stay in continual production, while packing columns and cleaning pots.

Our business model may seem strange, but until we are through with infrastructure and able to direct full focus on customer requirements, we are striving to not piss off customers who already have our units.

Add providing close service and support to the new turnkey beta testing owners during their learning phases, and incorporating the brain farts, leaves us with our hands full.

Especially when you consider that we also sold some Terpenators in kit form, to brothers who will need support building them into a dream machine of their own creation.

From field beta testing came bottom flood with top final rinse, discrete column recovery, advances in heating, thermal reading, and the duplex recovery system using a Gast diaphragm pump first stage, not to mention features yet to be added.

I posted this thread, so that those owning our units could openly ask or share operational data and epiphanies, as well as our dirty laundry in the form of customer service issues.

Those who have cruised our work in progress site will note that we are providing a similar thread on our own site, but this IC Mag forum is one that we are not personally in control of.

As SH observes, I've posted more design and beta testing results on IC Mag than our own SPR site, mostly because I do IC Mag early in the morning before I get to the pile of work, which includes updating our site, and haven't had time between 8:00AM and when I fall asleep, to keep our site current.

I've also found that IC Mag is where the big dogs hang out and have the most insight to share.

PS: Here is the single recovery pump PID for the Mk VA-2, answering many of ya'll's plumbing questions regarding a simpler system.

What WW said. The A is for automation and the B is a manual version with top rinse and discrete column recovery. Automated Mk V's with those features are a Mk VA2.

Could you not have the Chinese built parts done here?

We can all take comfort in the fact that most of this Stainless coming back from China was at one point gleaned from our eastern seaboard. . . They spent the last decade+ sucking every last piece of scrap up from us, just to sell it right back :wallbash:

To understand what is going on in China, one has to understand the international economy. The large manufacturing firms are well financed and have modern new equipment.

Our parts machined and welded on robotic equipment, are far prettier than our prototypes hand welded by a top aerospace welder here in tech city, USA.

Material is still expensive there, but labor is relatively cheap, so what you have made out of the expensive material is lots cheaper.

My gallant attempt to have my first Mk II Terpenator crafted in the good ole US of A, on union operated CNC water jet, machining, and welding equip, ended up with a $12,000 quote for what I now buy in China for under $2,000. Not as many machinists supporting expensive life styles in China apparently.

Someone once noted that we Americans think in terms of seconds and hours, while the Chinese think in generations, and it does look like they positioned themselves well from a raw materials standpoint.

I'm not sure if there is a soul on this site who could be more" buy American" & Patriotic then meee! For reasons I won't bore you to death with either.
I am a 1911 fanatic. Everyone & their brother has copied it too. Kimber, Wilson Combat, Dan Clark, Para Ordinance and even ole Springfield have fallen in line with a nice lite double action. Everyone minus one company I didn't mention. Imports more then half their parts. My HK stuff from Germany of all places. Is world class and almost as good as some of my custom stuff. Right outta the box too.
Point being. A hammer is just that..a hammer regardless of where it came from.
WolfWurx, Inc. Sells kits for the gear head. However builds custom equipment for the seriously invested care givers also. We don't play..phfft...we quite school because they had recess!.....hehe

Congrats GrayWolf, I hope you have nothing but success with WolfWurx.

I was curious if you have any plans of making available an affordable, somewhat homegrower friendly co2 extractor? Seems there would be a pretty good demand for something like that.

Thanks
