Gettin great thumbs up on the BMMomma.

Even the Jamaican manager of one of my fav watering holes says it's even better than what he buys (I tip with mj)

Says he wants a quarter, which I sell for $100, and probably too cheap

Next grow I am getting 2 @ 4 x 4 x 6ft tall tents

Will do a side-by-side of the SPYDR v new led panel, assuming he comes through. He's in production now:woohoo:

Last week I gave a couple small nuggz to one of my bar maid heavy smokers

Unfortunately her room mate deals and gets good stuff

Well yesterday she asked where I got the nuggz as they were awesome

If her roomie can't come through, she will get some :woohoo:

roommates stuff is never as good as those grown by icmag members!

I need to start tipping in herb more. Prior to that, i need to go to more places that accept tips ;)

great shit man

In case anybody is still following along,

Will be starting remainder of BX1 seeds with the new moon at the end of August

Hoping to get 2 of the Big Mex. She's very popular.

Will put them in 2 separate tents, one 3 x 3 and one other 4-5 x 4-5

The entire SPYDR over ONE plant could be awesome!

Will likely use the SPYDR from seedlings , but may have 2 new player's lights in time to vg under one of them (150w), adequate for seedlings/clones: the other is a ~260w panel said to be a contender for the SPYDR. I'm game to find out. So one plant for that tent.

The new panels (developed by a fellow grower) are said to be name brand killers at a much lower price. What a concept:woohoo:

Stay tuned for the new thread

I seen your thread on BML. I'm interested in getting the newer Spyder1000. I only registered to talk to you. you are way more knowledgeable then I. I'm on my first grow, I had to go HPS just cuz I was lacking $ and knowledge about what led to get. I liked Lumitex, But BML is in the right price range. I almost went with a Mars2, but my gut told me to hold out a lil longer. glad I did.

SPYDR is a vg choice.

Sizing to meet your space is important

as is number of plants

What size is your tent/grow area?

Grow area is 2 12x12's I don't think space is an issue.
I'll be ordering soon. what I'd like tho, is a detailed cob build for veg, then I'll have to add reds to flower later. Do you have a good cob build?

So, basically, really only need 5000k and 3000k diodes?
I've been playing with the PAR chart. came up with some I think are good choices. Lemme know what you think.

Yes ~ 18% @ 5000K, the rest 3000k will get you 95% of any other blends

You MIGHT put ~ 40% of the reds on a separate circuit to employ once buds set

BTW, how is your Spyder performing compared to other LED's or HID even?

My previous lighting was 432w HOT5, combining various spectrums

My led grows have all been < 150w, whereas the SPYDR is ~ 400w (said to compare to a 600w hps)

Will be doing a side by side soon vs a new comer, Solar Spec 260, which has a very high lumen/watt ratio

My hope is Spyder1k Is actually better then a 1k HPS. like you say, their 600 is only 400w, meaning they don't put real watt in the name. I don't like that. I mean, a Spyder600 should be 600w, equivalent to 1000 HPS +/-. I think it said they were, but I could be mistaken.

I don't wanna waste watts on greens. so i stay in the 6 to 15% range there. the reds and blues are really high, yet still has full spectrum. 1% high reds is all. any IR or UV? probly wouldn't be enough to mater tho.

Those pic's might not show cuz was in private pic's. I'll try again.

Whichever spectrums you decide on, spread them out like in the 3rd image

Keep in mind the template is 12" and whatever you put (and wherever you put it) will be multiplied 3 times per bar

Anything beyond 625 in the monos is an inefficient use of a diode

Unfortunately most led companies skirt the actual wattage issue, but companies like BML state theirs is a 600w equivalent

Newest generations of leds are getting so efficient, in a few years 600w may well be the equal of 1000w hps

Please mention me when you order

Part of the problem is watts is not a good measure of actual output
IE

600w @ 100 lumens per watt

600w @ 200 lpw

and even that is only gives you an idea.

The measure that matters is umoles/m^/sec. You will find this in the BML PDF: click on the Horticulture tab

Also most chinese brands use the wattage of the diodes instead of the actual draw which is ~ 60%.

Diodes will not last long when driven > 70%

Chinese have to run theirs even lower because they use cheap heat sinks

so a 1000w chinese panel is probably only 600w max

A SPYDR 600 will likely out produce it

Confusing as hell, I know
