Correction: Alan confirmed it IS indeed organic. (Red wheat bran sourced locally)

It's a little unfortunate that you can't delete posts on this site lol

It has to be hard to avoid GMO when using any crop-based substances in this country. I've hear 70-80% of our corn and soybeans are now GMO.

There is an oil in cottonseed called cyclopropene faty acid. Nineteen carbons atoms long, it consists of .6-1.2% of the seed. Toxic to liver and gallbladder. Causes females to become sterile. Also contains gossypol, this irritates the gut and causes shortness of breath.

I bet it is just fine and dandy for the soil

GMOs and organics are not mutually exclusive. The problem is GMO has become synonymous with round-up ready crops that are all raised poorly.

I think the biggest issue with GMO is the wildcard factor. Its possible they can add something like spider DNA to corn(I kid you not, they really do things like that), and not create any harmful changes, but then again they might produce corn that creates some sort of compound that regular corn does not and which is poisonous or carcinogenic in some way. Just do a quick web search about monarch butterflies and gmo corn if you want a good example of just how bad GMO can accidentally be.

So i saw this thread and found it concerning because i know both the family that owns Dragonfly Earth Medicine, and i know the family behind grokashi. All are wonderful people and I couldn't imagine the dragonfly earth folks talking smack and I was under the assumption that the grokashi product has organic bran in it. I contacted them both and I think I have a better idea of whats up now. First of all the DEM people and the Grokashi folks both consider themselves friends with each other so they aren't out to trash talk each other's products. Grokashi is in fact made with organic wheat bran that is listed organic by QAI. The dragonfly folks said that for a while people would ask them what they thought of grokashi and the response was that its a great product but they didnt know if they should get behind it because when they had asked alan from grokashi about it last year he said it wasn't made with organic grains. They have since been informed otherwise by Alan and said they now stand behind grokashi 100% Its my understanding that for several months now, grokashi has been made with organic bran.

Hope all is well.

Alan is absolutely committed to organic ag. You can't know him if you think or talk otherwise. The work he and his crew is doing in regards to bioremediation is changing how the outside industries view us. Gro kashi is a Fantastic product made by a highly ethical man. Period.

Yeah this was MY bad. Dragonfly commented on my buddy's post and said that the bran wasn't organic but it was my misunderstanding because that post was made about a year ago. So they were right, but I was wrong when I said that the bran still isn't organic.

DON'T panic, it's organic bran.
