Anybody out there do it? I freeze everything...the pot...my honeybees.....the butane. But now i have some glass tubes and I wanna know If Its safe to do.....thanks.

Freeezing glass extraction tubes?

oh yeah, the oil heads that are still open blasting often will freeze everything as you say, it's a good method to stop some of the lipids and fats from being extracted in the first place. personally i'm happy with hash, once you get it pure enough to be able to dab it, who needs oil, lol.

well said, do you use ice water extraction? nothing better than genuine fullmellt dabbable hash. thats satisfaction
the glasstube will be exposed to sub zero butane and will freeze during the open blasting process anyways so putting them in the freezer ahead of time cant hurt. glass tends to do better going from cold to hot rather than from really hot to cold.(ive broken a pyrex dish or two in my early days.. but any extreme temp changes can make glass shatter. since the butane is cold there wont be any fluctuation from hot to cold or vice versa so you should be fine, worked for me when i ran tubes..

you are too sensitive, lol, no dissing was intended. although i have to say the whole oil phenomena is worrying me. a big part of that worry is from irresponsible people thinking they can run a production facility in their garage. i have said it before but i think it really bears repeating. after thousands of years of cannabis not being involved in 1 death, we now have daily articles about fools blowing shit up. so forgive my subconscious push for closed system bho production if you have to produce bho in the first place.
Glass tubes are not recommended, because of their poor tolerance for thermal shock, but Borosilicate (Pyrex) tubes tolerate sharper thermal gradients.
We used to freeze ours to 0F with fresh frozen material, before injecting the butane and before we worked our our domed end geometry, sometime spalled off a conchoidal divot from the injection port.
you get daily articles about auto deaths too. as i mentioned, going to butane extraction is like driving a car, and smoking joints is like riding a bike. as we come into a modern age of extracts the world gets more dangerous, just like when automobiles took over , about 100 years ago. unfortunate when anyone gets hurt i agree, but for many who want to make a small amount occasionally and arent mechanically/ scientifically inclined, or dont have thousands to invest in a system they have to buy online most likely and have shipped to them, open blasting can be a safe personal production method.
Well, that's the result of uneducated people. As you allude, closed loop bho production is leagues safer, as long we understand we are still created a pressurized vessel.
On the otherhand, I wonder of your opinions on distillation of alcohol, as that's a hazardous process if performed improperly. Seems a fair comparison to me.
Bho, particularly when de-lipided, is much more pleasant on my lungs, which is my goal, avoiding combustion of all kind.
